(Guardian) No Death Challenge!
Good luck! I’ve gone almost ten levels without dying, and getting downed for very very short periods of time. The survivability of the guardian is awesome if you have a setup you like.
Now if only I could jive with water combat a little more…

Thanks! I have issues with underwater fighting too. I’m going to avoid it as much as possible. There’s a few things I’ll have to avoid. I get too curious in unknown areas. If I know it’s too high for me, I need to control myself and not enter the area or I will die.
Guardians is probably one of the best professions to do this with. Just keep a defensive weapon set available in addition to the leveling-favorite Greatsword.
As for underwater combat, it takes getting used to, but the Trident has a spamable heal, which will help you tremendously.
Best of luck!
Greatsword and Sword/Focus basically makes you immune to veteran and regular mobs. Throw 15 points into Radiance too.
10s cd blind on sword
20s cd blind on greatsword (easy to trait to 16s)
25s cd blind on focus
30s cd blind on Virtue of Justice (which is also refreshed on kills)
30s cd two second immunity on Shelter
40s cd aegis on Virtue of Courage (which can be activated for another aegis at any time)
45s cd three attack block on focus
Basically you can negate the first 10 attacks or so from most enemies and continue to thwart attacks on a regular basis after that. Everything listed there also disables multiple enemies at a time other than the aegis, so you can fight 3 or 4 enemies at once without any problems.
When first we practice to deceive.
I can already tell you that this challenge would not be for me! I use the Guardian’s defensive capabilities and survivability as the perfect excuse to charge in on things head on with little regard for personal safety!
There’s nothing quite like feeling that you are the head of a charge. And the rewards are always so very worth the risk!

I’ll definitely have to try this out! I came really close to dying last night because I was abandoned in the middle of an event. I don’t like close calls, so with that build I’ll seem to have a bit more wiggle room.

Have you tried the spear? For me it pumps out massive damage but its mostly limited to 1 target and a conal aoe

I just recently switched to a spear! I was seeing a bit more of an improvement with that, which I am very thankful for.

Exactly my excuse! I love spying groups of enemies in PvE and just going “Yeah, I could take them, and then those others guys could be pulled and then I can just get EVERYONE with my greatsword.” Risky for sure, but I’ve been able to pull through large groups of enemies really well on my own. I MAY have been a little smug after I finished one of the story missions (swarms of undead on the beach), two levels beneath the suggested, and pulled through without downing or killing myself ONCE. Then hearing my fiance telling me his engineer died three times and he was ten levels higher than me (er, well, ten levels higher before being leveled down to the mission level).
Still tweaking though. I can’t kill things very fast, but they can barely touch me for a good long while.
I’d be tempted but I’m liking pvp too much esp WvWvW, I dont die much, but I coudl not manage not at all.
Good luck
It pains me to say that my unreliable internet eventually caused my death. Throughout the day I had been experiencing odd internet issues. It would go down every hour exactly. Started at 3:59pm until 9:59pm when I died. I’m not giving up though! I’ll just have to start over.
Personally, I’d just keep the death count to a minimum. What you’re doing has it kinks but to me it would just make me too overly cautious. My personal count is at 102 or 103. I admire your initiative, and good luck.
I am rather content with the fact that I am last to be dropped on dungeon/party runs.

The only time I’m really cautious is with large amounts of monsters or monsters 2 or more levels above me. Also I would like to say I have really enjoyed the sword/focus and gs build. Hassohappa, thanks for the idea!
Hay slate i had seen you AFK the other night I had PMd you lol. Me and my fiance started the same challenge as you i posted it in the engineers forum tho. If you want you can check it out i made sure I referenced you in the post tho so all credit goes to you Me and her are level 8 right now and will be posting our level 10 pics hopefully tonight. If you want to add us our names are Sindrie and Zedmus The Tinker. Also our post is (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/engineer/Remake-of-the-No-Death-Challenge-Engineer-style/first#post95029) If you would like to see our pics along the way to. I will definitely be watching yours and rooting for you ^.^
I suppose if you didn’t actually fight everything. But if you do all the dynamic events, this is impossible.
Just do the Fire Elemental in Metrica Province (at the Reactor). That is one insanely tough fight that is impossible to not die in, many times.
Oh jeez, Zedmus. Thanks for the support! I’ll definitely add you to get your firsthand updates. I haven’t been incredibly active, so I’m currently level 20. Maybe we’ll get to party sometime! Along with this, I post my level 20 no deaths proof. And Tim, I have done the fire elemental on my necromancer before. It is tough, but I think after a while the bosses like that use the same combos over and over. For example the thing in Queensland is incredibly easy as long as you know what you’re doing.
