I made this build to rekindle the lost Ret Paladin days of wow. It almost works directly like one same power and passive healing. A guardian is supposed to protect and heal I pretty much do that with this build. It’s very fun and with proper gear you almost can’t be killed even on champions. And you most certainly will kill them because your not kittened.
Once you get used to it and learn the harmonizing between the build. You can straight control any fight big or small. Take a look have fun I favor this over the bursty boring Med builds.
What utilities are you using? What stats on gear do you shoot for over others? These things are nice when posting a build. So that people know how to be efficient with them and give it a real chance, rather than throwing it on and saying “it sucks” just because they weren’t fully informed.
Well its been prooven that players can click faster then hot keying. Matter of fact people show that every year in tournaments. It’s all about how can you get the job done. I personally don’t care if someone click hot keys or mind reads long as they win. If that’s all you got time to be worried about dont be a gamer lol. Between bet this clicker smacks you up and down the screen. As the people before who claimed they were hot key pro’s It’s no different then typing speed its all about how fast can you move.
And plasma come on now SOW is so small even when augmented. Doesn’t really matter if it has a 20 second CD. It’s hardly a OP pvp option more of a strategic pve option.
No, clicking simply slows your reactions. Your mouse is better used for other interactions such as camera movement and targeting. You hinder yourself, plain and simple.
At first i thought you were talking about DAOC Paladin, and i was really interested, then i opened it and it said WoW and it made me sad

I came up in DAoC. Clickers are EASILY the second worst in PvP. (worst being total noobs)
and you probably use a standard keyboard and a basic mouse and think you’re great! Good for you…

Prove me wrong, go ahead and tell me that clicking a button, moving the mouse to the desired area on screen… and then clicking the mouse again to drop that AOE targeting recticle is faster than a SINGLE finger press.

I know we got rolled daily by the torid and echoic crew but kitten if we didnt outscore the rest of the US servers.
I click, I clicked then , I click now.
you get to your buttons faster than I do by pressing the buttons and mouse turning by a half sec, I pick my targets FOUR TO FIVE sec quicker by clicking on my target with my mouse.
in daoc the most important part of the fight was head to head on incomming picking out your targets.
I cant TAB past the 15 mezmer clones, the roots that the million fotm hutnters drop, and the thief posse thats always up from one of the many fotm thieves …. to get to the target i HAVE TO kill.
the whole CLICKER vs mouse turner thing was way overblown in WoW forums. kinda like the whole “ZOMG YOU WEAR BRIEFS? you must only wear boxers” thing got overblown in the late 90’s. now look, 10 years later we are all wearing boxer briefs.

It’s all about winning how you do it is your business. It’s the same as not liking someone because of where they are from. Don’t let ignorance big or small cause you to lose out on things in life. It doesnt matter if your a clicker or hot key god. When comes down to things all you need to do is two things. Win and respect others that is all that matters. All the rest of the blah blah is just uptight people who need to worry about better things in life.
Your here for a vid discussing a build and giving back to the community not whine about methods. If you want to do that go make a vid and a post and do better. If you can’t do that its the same as not voting in election.

I thought FF7 want an amazing RPG. I was a long time DAoC from beta to post-ToA. I think your use of generalisations says more about you than the people you attempt to categorise in this manner.
Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.
I grew up playing UO Lake Superior server, and PvPed me while career as a murderer (perma stat loss on death) with the bounty system and all the other UO pvp and I will NEVER click, hot keying is much faster and just better for me overall.
All these generalizations are making my head hurt. Not all UO players are clickers, and whoever the kitten it was that said These kids were eating kids while we were playing DAOC and UO in 2000 is ridiculous. Lol
Op can you please explain what a retribution pally from WOW is for those of us that have never played it…. I have no idea what the basis of your build is (can’t watch vid at work right now) I have no idea what anything from wow is so I don’t understand what you are trying to build.
I don’t care if someone doesn’t like the build thats fine. Hopefully they will make one up better. Or maybe I atleast spark a idea thats the point of vids and post like this. Even if you help one person then its worth it.
Well Blue before blizzard just went nuts making everything simple. Ret paladin was a warrior with holy talents. You had spash damage that could heal things around you. And you could debuff a target and make anyone who hits it heal. You can do similar things in this game with guardian. As a matter of fact you can emulate it perfectly. But you cant have it all at the sametime. So I went with the best scenario I thought would emulate that class.
At first it was just for fun I was bored 80 you can farm but so much before your like omg next. So i went and made this build and never changed back to the med boring build. I turned the med build into a heal tank build. But this build is way better in my opinion PVE wise. PVP I haved to pair it with sceptor and it works fine. I can handle 1v2’s easy kill people fast and they can’t kite me. And I can constantly heal myself and others. In clerics gear or the gear from Orr its really OP almost nerf screaming OP.

i tried to have alot of toons so i didnt make it out in RVR till after a while, but i do remember fighting bedlam, echoic had moved onto his savage Sushi. I ran with terror squad with briaan, and Audigy. then Toa came out and i moved to the stealth game. anyways i think its cool that i always run into people that i played a game with 10 years ago lol
No need to be mean Abs people are entitled to a opinion. @Cempa I tried that and found eventhough the wrath symbol is small on sight. It’s actually alot larger then it seems. I couldn’t see it worth wasting a talent on that. Just my personal choice if that feels better for you by all means.
I appreciate your subjectivity, but you know as well as I that it wasn’t being “mean” or “rude” or anything. Sure, people have a right to their opinion, but it’s quite obvious that there’s a lot of downright bashing going on with regards to mouse clickers vs keyboard binders. Also, bragging about one’s accomplishments in an entirely different game as though everyone here will immediately acknowledge and admire is… silly.
Hey i’m a adult it doesn’t matter what some over anal person thinks of the manner in which i play. The word people seem to pass at the end of the day is (play). You can’t take things too serious in games like this. I was a clicker 15 years ago ill be a clicker/controller user 15 years from now doesnt matter. I get the job done I enjoy it it’s me playing not anyone else.
So people’s opinion/rage/attitude just doesn’t matter. Like I said its a form of discrimination in a area of life it has no business in. Guys need to grow up accept people are different and move on. Just because someone does something different doesn’t mean they are better or worse then you. So when people have something to say or bash I don’t really care let them be ignorant alone ignore them. That’s why I moved on with the topic no point in wasting time with immature people.
Really loving this build, only had to make a couple alterations to suit my playstyle, fresh guardian 80 and loving it, nice change of pace from thief and necro. I do a lot of WvWvW with some dungeons thrown in here and there so I am looking for as balanced gear set as possible with surv/damage/heal. Brings me to my question gearing, whats the magic +healing number to shoot for in your opinion that allows you enough healing to have a real impact while maintaining good survival and damage? Do you mix and match gear certain gear sets?
Interesting build I may try it out. Just wish there was a dual spec or some way to save and switch to different builds to make trying new ones out easier.
