Hi, I have started to play Guardian a lot more now and have a question for you about the sword attacks.
I have a Mesmer to level 80.
The first and second attacks from sword says its meant to hit 3 mobs in front of you for Guardian.
I kinda find this weird cos it seems like its a very acute angle you need to be in to hit 3. I often have to get them all together to hit all 3 or maybe get them in a line to hit all 3.
eg. attack seems to only hit 3 mobs if they are in the angle of the cone hit of skill one.
With Mesmer I did not have this problem.
I have also tried this in dungeons where bunch of mobs are pulled together.
To better explain I uploaded this to show what I mean. sword skill 1 and 2 will hit all in Mesmer. Guardian will only hit the one in front, left and right did not register a hit. Is the guardian designed this way?
Anyway im now to the profession, so if someone could explain would be great.
Thanks in advance.

Ah you’ve discovered something that annoys the hell out of a lot of Veteren guards.

Also I’ll add: Sword Wave Issues

Namely the fact that the third chain is a narrow cone piercing projectile based attack for no good reason ( ie not a melee skill! ), and suffers from terrain obstruction problems and can be reflected back into your face ( which is nearly a one-shot death on a medi build ).

Sadly we’ve been asking for it to be changed/fixed since day 1.

It should also be noted the the skill “Zealots Defense” is a DPS loss compared to the auto attack.

It also has a bad tendency to miss many of it’s projectiles.

And to top it off while it says it’s a ranged block it doesn’t actually block anything, it merely absorbs ranged attacks which in turn means it does not interact with the on block traits the guardian has.

Over all the sword has some real problems.
