hey guys,

are there any tanky supp fractal builds like soldier + cleric?

I really prefer weapon combos like GS/Hammer + Staff/Scepter

Actually I have full soldier armor with melandru runes.

No sorry there isn’t, there is only DPS builds for fractals such as 15,15,0,20,10 (10 spare) which provide permanent protection vuln, reflects, aegis, healing, potentially condition removal, blind potential. Tanking isn’t something in gw2 due to agrro mechanics and healing power in fractals is very weak. If you die then just keep at the build until you get good enough, you should use full zerker for pve. Pick up some skale venom and some food of choice (lifesteal is always good, I like omnomberry compototes for tricky trash mobs due to 1k heal on death) as well as dungeon potions. Read obal’s fractal guide as well.

Any good fractal runner will know healing power will infact make your team worse in high level fractals because stuff needs to die fast

hammer staff with mixed cleric knight gear is decent, aim for 45% crit chance and preci food.

No it’s not decent, healing power has bad scaling when you dedicate your entire build to it let alone mixing it with other stats. Your dps will be bad and your groups sustain will barely be improved at all.

Knights gear can be used as training wheels but when high level fractals can be completed with ease in full zerker gear once you get some experience there’s no excuse to use anything else.

Basically this, people using clerics gear in pve are a joke

thats not entirely true, just don’t go full clerics unless you are taking advantage of what it’s designed for.

I have a full set of clerics armor w/trinkets and I rune mix for boon duration. In +30 fractals I full symbol with mace/hammer/gs and staff on standby.

You can keep might, protection and healing up on your group longer, and if your team knows this and knows how to stay near you, you can get a more efficient team dynamic out of this. The fights will take a little longer, but they will also be a little easier. Play to the strengths of the mechanics here.

That said, it certainly isn’t required. At higher level fractals you need more damage, faster than anywhere else. If you are in a good group go DPS focus and just time your blinds and blocks.

Full clerics support for guardian = random pug insurance. You can carry a team of people who have no idea what they are doing, but it will only get you so far.
