Hey~ my request is simple, I need a guardian build that uses the Torch to it’s fullest potential, since it is my favorite weapon in the game when used on a guardian.

I’m aware that Torch is generally considered mid-range not terribad but not good, but I’m hoping that someone can manage to figure out something that uses the Torch and makes it exceptional, or at the very least, good.

I’d prefer the build not to be support based, obviously, but other than that I have no real guidelines. I’d really appreciate it if you could make a build outline on guildhead or a similar site to go along with your answer, but again that’s up to you.

Now that’s new to me. I’ve always had the impression that the only people that don’t consider the torch terribad are those who think that the big number at the end of skill 5 is great. Right now, I can’t think of a single situation where I’d want to equip the torch instead of the focus – even the shield would be more useful, and that weapon is rubbish, too.

Hi , this is a support build for the guardian that i used for a long time , playing in pve/WvW like pug.

With this build whenever you will use “Cleasing Flame” against mobs/player you will:
-Deal damage aoe
-Clean condition aoe
-Buff might aoe(maybe only 2-3 stack of might from this channeled)
-Heal your self due to “Altruistic healing” trait if you will have some allies around you.

For PvE, that build is literally crying for a kick from any halfway competent dungeon group.

Disclaimer – I have not been tested the below and it is just an idea/opinion which means it is probably utter kitten

As far as I can see the only way to get the most out of Torch it to go for a burn build so try the below out and see if it works for you. Evidently you can adjust armor and such to your liking.

I thought to this spec to play my favorite role, support, in WvW like pug. PvE in this game dont really need some particular build (apart fotm and maybe arah) and i will not join a dungeon in full dps spec due i dont like play in that way.

I think the torch is really fun too, but any build you create around the torch right now will be subpar.

I also like the Torch. Here is a build I made, but have not tested it yet.
It focuses on empowering might and trying to get 100% crit chance. For that you’ll need to achieve 65% crit chance through your gear and spec, of course you’ll have to get the +15% with one-handed weapon, and try to get fury as often as you can, through meditation and inner fire.
For the sigil, something that procs with crits would be a good idea. I put two of them, I think with the next update they won’t share the same cooldown, am I right?

This is surely not a very good build, but I think it is fun to play.
