Guild Wars 2

Hi,

Basically i’m confused.

Having played MMO’s rather alot and understanding the concept of builds/weapons/armour/stats etc, i thought i would of got to grips with this by now but this game i just can’t seem to get my head around for builds.

Could anyone point me in the right direction? I’ve read the stickies, and various other posts in the last 4 pages (anything after that i deem moot as patches overtake advise from 5+ months ago).

I’m not after “teh best dps build” but just some of the more popular builds, the ones that the majority are using and getting along fine with. I would like a DPS and a “support” build, by that i mean a MH/OH combo which provides less DPS but more utility.

What are your opinions on weapons? I understand GS is the standard DPS weapon of choice but what about MH/OH? I’m currently using mace/shield however have seen sword/focus/torch used rather alot.

well i updated the sticky regarding Ah gameplay (or really gameplay with 30 points in valor) after each patch so i would say nothing in that is moot atm.

Its also the most popular build(s) out there and in Tpvp the number one non bunker setup.

In pve you can pretty much trait as you want and 30 point valor is very popular.

I actually suggest you start with the sticky its wvw/tpvp centric since that is what i do in the game but most/all can be applied in pve as well and there are some pve specific parts as well.

Or just use the search function on this forum. I think people are getting a bit tired of “need a build now threads”

Near the end of the Pyroclasm sticky there are two sample builds, I reccomend the first one. It’s a good boon support build with lots and lots of Might for your party, and does reasonable damage on its own as well. You can swap armor and trinkets to taste, if you want more or less defensive stats.
