Hi there..I really have a problem to decide which weapons I have to use..
I like all weapons..and i really find them great..but when I search to google for build everyone has his own personal opinion..I just want a good damage guardian that can at least kill dat mobs..and survivability..am not playing with friends..so I don’t have to protect someone..only in some dungeons..but I don’t have even go there..
Anyway..I use mace/focus + gs..but I really need your opinion guys..Thanks!
GS + Sword/Focus is most damage which is like the most important thing in PvE.
Hammer is more utility (perma protection) but still pretty good damage.
Scepter is the strongest (kind of only) range weapon you have.
Mace, Shield and Torch have very nieche uses and aren’t that useful in most PvE situations.
Staff is more of an utility weapon, good for everything where you only need to tag stuff or to kite and you don’t actually need damage.
With that said you should carry at least one of every weapon with you for all the different situations in PvE but GS + Sword/Focus are probably the most important ones.
Agree with the “carry one of everything” sentiment.
Personally, I like mace a lot, and prefer it to sword. In dungeons, I know my role so I run sword. But in open world, I prefer mace’s larger aoe, symbol, and survivability. And while the single target damage is a bit less than sword, I feel like it’s higher against larger groups.
Obal and his calculations with other people suggests that it is possible for Hammer/Greatsword to beat Sword + Focus/Greatsword – without the use of Unscathed Contender – with the right build. So Sword + Focus/Greatsword isn’t necessarily the best choice. Two setups are very close in damage, so pick what you want. I prefer the Hammer/Greatsword as I don’t like sword skins and how it moves.
