  1. - The Sword – For me sword is life. Good AA and the #2 skill is awesome with the teleport and the blind…. so what exactly happened to the #3???? It,s the “Burst skill” on the sword but unless they stand still in front of your nose… well good luck getting it to hit.. also it ROOTS you.. which if your running a medi build is not something you want…EVER I mean maybe if you had to stand still to land a huge burst but Sword 3 is unreliable at best. So like.. Pls change it Anet? I know that wont happen dont crush my dreams I’m an optimist
  1. - The Scepter – Personally I like the Weapon it has good dmg, Smite is on a Short CD and yeah its a small AoE but you have the nice immob to go with it. Only thing holding it back is the AA. I mean why Advertise as 1200 when your enemy can have a seizure at that range and not be hit at all??? Great range weapons for us guys…SO happy we have that..

1. Agreed. Skill 3 does some great damage but half of it never hits unless your opponent sits there politely.

2. The sceptre is only every valued because it has the immob and is the only way a guard can hit from range (especially with such bad mobility). What we really need is to be allowed to use Longbows with some good CC skills. That way we can actually have a viable range option. I find it hilarious how we can barely function at range yet aren’t given nearly enough skills to close distances and find short-ranged either? ironic really

Sword 3 isn’t a dps gain over auto attack. It’s main selling point is the longer reach and the projectile block.

This game is all High risk High reward. ZD is High risk low to none reward. at the very least can we move while casting it?? it doesnt even track, just goes straight. I dont see how Anet thinks that is is good to put a self root skill on a weapon set that relies on movement to survive

Sword 3 isn’t a dps gain over auto attack. It’s main selling point is the longer reach and the projectile block.

The main problems with number 3 are three fold.

1: The projectiles are to slow, meaning any moving enemy will likely be missed allot.

2: It doesn’t actually block, it absorbs. This means it does not interact with the various traits/effects that trigger off of blocks.

3: The damage output is the same as or lower then the auto attack chain (even with the decent chance of sword wave missing on a moving target)

There is also the fact that the 3rd attack on the auto attack chain can often miss on moving targets & can be reflected even though its not listed as a projectile.
(really they should make it more akin to the warrior axe 3rd auto attack, then it would be fine & cleave)

Lastly as far as the scepter goes.

The damage “POTENTIAL” is nice, however due to how slow the orbs move they often miss.
There is also the fact that smite is not a true AOE. It’s a ground targeted mark that does 15 single target attacks.

What I have proposed for over 2 years is that they

1: Make the scepter auto attack into a fast channeled beam that will penetrate enemies to hit its target (Ala mesmer greatsword, just keep the damage output around the same as is now)

2: Change smite into a symbol. (this might mean less single target damage, but greater AOE damage. It would also make it interact with symbol traits, thus more build options)
