I’m leveling up a guardian to 80, i was wondering which build is the best for guardians? thanks

There is no best build.

i was looking for a build that gives me lot of damage but i dont want to die easily anyway

As been said there is no *one’ best build, there are only more or less competitive builds.

Before even asking for a “best” build you should specify what and how you want to play your guardian.

Pve? Open world? Dungeons? fractals? Pvp? WvW? ranged? Up front and personal? First in and last one out? etc?

The point is that most experienced guardians change gear and build when ever they change content.

The best depends on what you’re doing.

If you want to be the best at everything, that will require multiple sets of armor and retraining for each activity.

It you’re looking for an all around best, that will entirely depend on your playable.

For ME the “best” is “what can I get away with without retraiting or gear swapping and do the majority of he game”.

I’ve narrowed it down to a single 2h build that let’s me do pve, dungeons, wvwvw, and guild activities with a single set of gear only using different weapons (pvt) for wvwvw. In spvp I use a different build however, since I can and its easy to change.

Behold!! Full zerker armor/weps, zerker/vitality ascendent jewelry, scholar runes. GS/staff/hammer with backup scepter/focus. Force in hammer/gs, bloodlust in staff, scepter with leech and focus with air. Maintains 14k hp, scales ridiculously well for dps.

Expect to go down sometimes. Expect teammates to go down. The most powerful heal in the game that is practically spamable (with aware teammates) is getting someone up from downed status. In dungeons ill typically drop the -20% shout cd (save yourselves and stand your ground sometimes swapped with a signet) for the 10 seconds of regen/protection/aegis for me and the downed player upon revival. That single trait is a game changer for zerk groups.

we are down to three trait distributions since tpvp pretty much narrows it down its a competitive build you will need there..

0/30/30/5/5 for burst
0/5/30/30/5 for symbol bombing and sustain with dps or an alternative way to bunker.
0/0/10/30/30 for full bunker.

all three builds work in all aspects of the game. Just pick one and use armor that fits the build.

Pick one of the above and you still have a multitude of choices in traits to chose from within the distribution.

This build is survivable, but a lot of that survival comes from correct use of blocks, blinds, and dodges.

If you aren’t comfortable in full berserker you can mix in Knight’s gear for Helm, Coat, and Leggings (or all armor if you’re really uncomfortable in berserker’s.

If you really find that you cant survive with either of these builds, a standard 0 0 30 30 10 Altruistic Healing build will work, but loses out on considerable amounts of dps compared to either of the other two builds.
