Guild Wars 2

Hey guys, I’m relatively new to the GW2 end game and i’m looking for a good build to run as guardian dps. I need help with the build/trait selection and what runes and stuff to use. If anyone wouldn’t mind please shoot me a post!

Sigil depend on the content you do, Force is good overall, if you do alot of night dungeon, go for night. Whatever float your boat.

I play a 20/25/0/5/20

The ideal armor is berserker + scholar runes (ruby orbs if you can’t afford scholar). but mixing in some knights pieces (do this on armor not on trinkets – also the higher toughness of knights will make any passive healing from life steal food/VoR stronger then soliders would without sacrificing as much DPS) will help you to avoid feeling like glass while your learning how to cycle your blinds/aegis/shelter/renewed focus/dodges/reflects to avoid damage.

For sigils, it is up to you, but I like stacking might. I use sigils of strength (stacks might on crits) on my GS and main-hand weapons (sword, scepter). Off-hand weapons have sigils of accuracy. Staff has a sigil of fire.

Get berserker armor (with runes of scholar), trinkets and weapons. Your active defenses and perma vigor (if you trait for it) will be more than enough to survive everywhere just fine. You should get 2 Greatswords (1 with force and 1 with night sigil), 2 swords, 2 foci (one of the sword+focus sets with 2 bloodlust sigils and the other one with force+night, you can also get extra weapons for day dungeons or just with slaying sigils), 1 hammer (situational) and 1 staff for Empower+swap to GS pre-combat.

There are a few builds you can go, the most effective ones are 10/30/0/5/25, 10/25/0/10/25, 20/25/0/0/25 or 10/25/10/0/25.

I would recommend looking at the guardian subforum in general. The players-helping-players subforum might not have a whole lot of people who know the ins and outs of the guardian specifically.
