Guardian death countdown (is over were dead)
Also forgot to address the 2 blood lust sigils lol. That is because I have multiple ascended weapons, a stacking weapon for my GS and a non stacking weapon. Once I have full stacks, I switch to my non stacking GS that has the sigil of air and sigil of fire on it.
And the condi clense. How am I lacking condi cleanse when I am running 1 meditation that turns all of my conditions in to boons then another mediation that clears 1 condition? I generally will down anyone before I’ll need to use any of my meditations twice.
About stability with your statement: “with your only stun breaks being your opener and your big condi cleanse.” – Judges Intervention is not an opener unless you’re bad, why waste such a critical skill like that in the beginning of a fight? And since the stability changes, I’ve found stun breaks to be better roaming than stability. I don’t have to deal with too many CC’s when I am fighting in 1v1s or 1v2’s. I generally run solo or with 1-2 other people, so I don’t really have that problem. When I run bigger groups, that isn’t all I do. Trait lines aren’t the same for bigger group fights lol.

Already seeing after the patch in pvp (hot join or organized) A team and B team A seeing a guard in B team and they say:
-Ooh look a guardian in B team
-Poor fellow don’t he knows his class got so nerf that he barely survives even dmg is non
-F*** him thief X go playkill him don’t let him get any points i want to hear him swear in Map chat that hi cant kill you, and trust me he will die first even if he’s a pro or not
Is this what the devs to hear in each pvp match or in tournaments
Is this what the GW2/HOT community want to think about the guardian an easy picking for the other professions and even worse in HOT
(And Josh XT.6053 gladly accept your offer but i am a guardian as well )
And i am positive you will fell the nerfs head on when you go pvp wvw (roaming or Eotm)

I think that is a bit of an exaggeration. Anyway, I’m logging in right now, I’ll set up my traits and I am sure I’ll be happy.

2574 power, 2701 armor, 46.4% crit, 207.26% crit damage, 18926 HP..
But go on and tell me how much my build changed for the worse lmao.. Gained 3k HP, 3% crit and about 200 power.

You start your fight with scepter/focus on, from here, you hit 4, 5, 2, 3 -> switch to GS, 4, 5, 2, 5. Oh hey what do ya know, they got immobilized in that symbol, then when the immobilize ended, they got pulled to keep them in to it while your shield of wrath blew up in their face and they ate at least half your whirling wrath. I’ve been doing this same combo for months and wrecking noobs like you that have L2P problems.
I’d mention exactly how my interrupt Mesmer could destroy that build, but I don’t really like to argue with people that attempt to insult me with L2P comments and 1v1 threats. They’re almost never worth my time.

I’m guessing both medi and AH will still be viable with the new trait system but it all depends on what the other classes are getting for buffs. It appears AH will lose any offensive ability they may have had with the loss of two-handed mastery.
If all other classes are getting more powerful while guards are getting nerfed, along with losing guard stacks, it could spell big trouble in WvW for guards.
I’m at a huge loss now after this patch.
I’ve always kidn of played my guardian my own way.. From Zerk/Hybrid/to my now Full healing build (2k healing power ;D). But now in both PvE/PvP I’m finding myself weaker in every aspect after the new patch. I can’t help but wonder what is the role of the guardian now. What can I do special/better then another class. I’m getting really short on answers now =/

nerf inc and those thiefs that say that gain fury over 40mins
Mace trait on WvW cooldown is apreciated but healign power was nerfed, really hard to gain that boost….~playing mace shield is even worst now….

I tried 6/0/6/0/6 … its ok-ish..but hammer + m/f with 0/0/6/6/6 looks better with big symbols heal and almost perma prot.

All professions were “massively nerfed” and “utterly destroyed” for those who play them. You can’t go to a profession forum without avoiding threads like these.

It’s a pretty kitten good trait, admittedly. But overall we still got hit pretty hard with damage nerfs.

I can kill Svanir/Chieftan with only 3 abilities in about a third of the time now.
“Damage Nerfs”
They significantly up’d the raw damage. The assumption most people, myself included, was that the loss of all our dmg modifiers would kill our output, however this is not the case.
The flip side is ~everyone~ has the same output now…. outside of those dmn back-stab thieves….

I feel like burst guardian is incredibly weak in comparing to conditions guard.
bursts are weak against condi builds, conditions due the vulnerability increase conditions, every one is melting at close combat.
Bunker guard feels strong in PvP. Seems to do very well in the current environment.
well.. to be honest i expected the same. but now that i played with those new traits…. OMG. guardians are awesome. zeal + valor + virtues. that build has insane dmg. imagine.. u pop retaliation + 3might + burning and u jump on top of your enemies head with GS#2 + medi tele (4 stacks of burning already). traited with even more burnings from virtues and fiery wrath from zeal.. idk but so far i love it. it was the biggest surprise for me. i thought guardian is done.. but it was a huge surprise to see how much of a damage dealer it can be now.
tho its abit a pity for some traits. like Valors master is completely useless. or Honor now.. looks rly terrible to me. all traits tbh. seems like Zeal + Valor + Virtues are my only option now. and it used to be Zeal + valor + honor.
so ye.. going out and testing made me realise that NOPE. guardians arent dead. for sure. but it would be good to switch up some traits. or even to lessen cooldown on virtues (yea.. i still think courage virtue is soooo long).

yeah.. I had high hopes for guard despite reading what they had planned for it. I mean support guard is great and a lot of fun but they nerfed staff (the 20% boon duration isn’t enough).
I’ve tested both the mace trait and the shield trait and to be honest you don’t really need the mace one at all.. shield, while I enjoy it’s cool globe effect and projectile destroyer (also the heal is not bad) and the knockback.. with or without the cooldown reduction it still feels very lacking. Another side note is even with full clerics, tons of condi removal, boons, blocks, interrupts, other heals (dodge roll heal/VoR/Altruistic healing/etc).. my guardian melts to condi’s. Before I could command a zerg in full support and with my timely dodges, blocks, condi clears, I could be the first one into combat and still be the last one alive. Now I get melted by mesmers/rangers/engi’s in 3 or less seconds.
On the positive side, I love the new elites (especially the quickness boon and fury for allies – I expected this was going to be such a long cooldown it’d be useless.. but I’m glad they made it low since it’s competing with renewed focus) and also healing breeze becoming a shout (with smite condition added to it). The biggest flaw with all of this…. THE NERFED THE kitten RANGE. I rarely have any of my allies get my buffs whether it be from shouts or virtues. Restore this to 1200 or atleast make it 900.
I gave my new Mediguard roamer a quick whirl in WvW and was generally happy with it (after i figured out i had to retrait again for WvW).
NPCs melt (literally) with the burning burst and taking camps requires little effort. I also generally had good luck in 1v1s. The 1v1 could just be because other players haven’t figured out what to do with their own builds yet though.
10k whirls. Such a dead class, no? SoW bursting for 7k. Such death. 4-5k auto attacks. Holy crap anet, we need more power.

Anyone who still used two-handed mastery wasn’t taking full advantage of AH. Empowering Might is light years better than two-handed mastery because every second you’re spitting out might to 5 allies, you’re also healing yourself from it just from critting.
And as I said before, there is no Guardian nurf unless you’re playing a really bad build. The build options for guardian are incredibly better now than they were before. The group spec Guardian build in WvW is now able to take full advantage of the Honor, Valor and Virtues lines, so you just GAINED TWO grandmaster traits because the typical meta before this patch was 0/0/6/4/4, now you get the grandmaster from those last 2 lines on top of the traits you already had. You aren’t gaining stat points from those, but who cares? You make stat points with your armor, I’m running cavalier armor and zerker trinkets and weapons and I can survive great, deal insane damage and have no issues.
