Hi guys, Atm i have a support guardian, but i want to try the dps build, so i wanted to know what piece of armor and weapon should i use, and how much does it cost, and what traits should i set, thanks

^^^ is great for PvE and in dungeons if you’ve got a good group.

do know it may not work AS well in WvW/PvP, as you’ll usually want a bit more sustain. but of course, you can still make it work if played right. : ))

I’ve tried Brazils build mentioned above, but I prefer 20/30/0/10/10 DPS build that is knocking around somewhere.

It does more damage than Brazils build and buffs the 2 weapons I currently like most 1-h sword/focus and Greatsword.

It’s basically a power/burn build. Sword/torch for attacking, and staff for defending and might stacking. The two teleport skills from sword and Judge’s Intervention, makes it easy to stay close to a foe. Tome of Wrath is for ranged AoE damage. Boons give your more durability. You deal 25% more damage when foes have burning, which is constantly.

I find it amazing and genuinely fun.

The most recent video gave me the motivation to switch. Granted I don’t have the zerker gear he currently uses I’ve got more Knights with Zerker sprinkled in but I can see it as a mainstay for WvW. I’ll be trying to get zerker gear for it.

Why use sword if it doesn’t cleave?

Sword does cleave. It’s just that the last attack in the AA chain is a cone, and not an arc. But it hits like a truck, truly. Actually, trucks hit like sword.

I thought it was a conal attack which did not pierce? Aka each of the three waves can only hit one enemy.

No, it pierces. You can test in the mists against the golem cluster to verify. The cone is only about 30 degrees wide though – the graphic is a pretty accurate representation of what will actually be hit. The range on it is 300. I’m not sure if there’s a cleave limit or if it’s a true pierce that can hit any number of things along its path, but I can definitely hit 3 of those golems at the same time if I line it up right.

ya, mentioned this in the 1h sword thread, just position yourself to face the mobs or enemies and the last attack will pierce. : ))

@Chullster – i’ve been playing 20/30/x/x/10 as well and love it. more often been going with 10 in valor though, over 10 in honor.
