do we have any decent healer builds, im looking to roll a guardian which can pve, dung, pvp, but mainly heal, is this possible, and what traits would I follow to create this beast

It’s possible, but if you turn up in cleric gear to a fotm or most dungeons you will probably get kicked. A lot of dungeons specifically ask for speedclear, zerker etc (which a cleric is not suited for).

As for actual builds, I’m fond of 0/0/20/30/20 with mace (battle presence, absolute resolution and mace +250 healing power) or 0/0/10/30/30 with staff (battle presence, absolute resolution and elite focus).

You won’t be a healer as per traditional MMOs, but you can help in large fights with other players. You can find dungeon runs that accept everyone, or are “casual” and bring your cleric there, but chances are you’ll mostly see “speedrun, zerker only, experienced” etc.

I’m planning on having my 2nd Guard as a cleric team healer type myself (for WvW), and I’m debating between the two build styles fadeaway posted. Either go for max HPow with 0/0/4/6/4, or max Battle Presence with 0/0/2/6/6.

If they join a zerker/speed run party without zerker/speed run gear, then fine. If they join a casual run, or create their own dungeon party, then you’re just kitten.

Depends of the dungeon. I’m zerk for fast runs dungeons like CoF, SE et cetera, I’m cleric geared for fractal 50 and sometimes in Arah.

This is why i dont pve, it kittens me the mechanics of this game its a dps fest.

@op just search for healway and similiar build thats the max u can be a healer, if u want to heal better check some other class with waterfield and blasts.

Sidenote: Guardian in gw2 works more like a protection monk than a healer one.

For pve, healing power doesn’t scale well. Unless you are full tank (which doesn’t help the group) you won’t be outhealing the damage done to your group like a typical healer would. It’s better to mitigate damage done instead in the form of aegis/blocks, reflects/projectile destruction, blind spam, and perma prot from hammer with writ of persistence. That would be the best form of support you can bring instead of some weak heals.

Even if you assume that cleric build has some usefulness, the biggest problem imo is that you really screw your group when there’s another player doing the same thing. One clericish person in a group, I can handle that. 2 clericish people? Or god forbid, 3? It’s a lot like trying to run a condition build, seems ok until someone else is trying to do the same thing then you’ve got a completely wasted spot.

Good thing we don’t have DPS meters or inspection options. No one knows what the heck you are running so have at it and run what you brung.

Dunno, that’s no big surprise to me. Remember fade’s DPS table? Cleric AH was one third of the meta, so comparable stuff could be expected to be three to four times slower than berserker meta, just as this video shows.

try out my build if u like, i been owning 2v1s and bunkering while still managing some serious dmg output. on top of which i have been keeping everyone alive and healed in team engages. the passive healing to team is INSANE.
