Guardian in Arah
Skills to use:
Wall of Reflection <— Used in many parts of the dungeon in all paths
Retreat <—— Blocks are…. Well blocks lol
Purging Flames <—- good for enemies that throw condi’s such as the first bosses in P3, with that stupid poison. Also fire field for might stacking if no other source.
Stand Your Ground <—- Swap Purging for this during Lupicus.(to escape green bubbles)
As far as traits and armor. I go 10/25/0/10/25 with GS + Sword/Focus(I use full zerker but knights w/ zerker works if you a beginner guardian).
The idea is to use blinds as much as you can when LOS’ing trash mobs, and use good weapon rotations to help burst enemies down. On mob skips, us GS + staff. Staff to get swiftness, and GS when actually running so you can leap past the worst parts of the run.
Any specific questions?

With that build what dps can you do?

Aslong as you get swiftness from your group its better to skip trash with GS, sword focus. You can blink to a far ahead mob without getting in combat and you have some blocks for the more dangerous sections. You can also slot judges intervention for running sections (extra blink).
DPS you get damage buffs from: 10% enemies on fire, 10% enemies with conditions(which is always), 10% above 90% hp with scholar runes, 1% extra damage for each boon on you(which is generally around 4-5). I hit WW around 19k+ pretty consistently against bosses.
And I use the staff for the warding, it can really help your teammates(I don’t always run with top level players, so I help them where I can). But if you really need the extra help skipping, use the sword focus for extra blocks and blink. You can even do swiftness with staff, quick swap it out for GS then start you run.

Would this be a top zerker build for FOTM?

Yes it is. It brings the cool down reductions on consecrations(hello Wall of Reflect) and reductions to shouts, while bringing High DPS. If you look around other people’s guides you will see this build pop up for Fractal and dungeon Runs.

Yeah 10/25/0/10/25 is better for fractals than a pure sword build. The cleave on sword is bad for all the trash clearing in fractals.
Awesome thanks. Now to dust off my guardian!
Edit: Is exotic jewelry better than Ascended?
Also, why Prayer of Dwayna over Shelter?

Shelter is fine. Id say its better for fractals (extra block).
Oh Prayer of Dwayna is my preference. I run too many pugs, so I like a larger burst heal. Shelter is nice when you don’t need to big gulp on HP recovery. Oh and no exotic is not better than ascended. It should be all ascended, I just put exotic there for the “everyman type build”.
There you go with ascended stuff and shelter:

“My build hit every buff possible for greatsword. I had all buffs I can think of in the game which would be banner of strength and discipline, empower allies, 2 frost spirits (traited and untraited stack), spotter, 25 might stacks, 25 vulnerability on target, 25 bloodlust stacks, 100 pow/10 crit damage food, undead sigil, undead potion, bane signet, and all boons for unscathed contender and power of the virtuous traits. I also stood inside the target so I hit? more than 9 times with WW.”
HOLY CRAP, imagine that in a warrior LOL. 80k damage? LMAO

Lol I see what you did there. Maybe Anet intended us to stack rangers for dungeon groups and we just choose to play how we want and stack warriors instead.
Id reccomend 10/30/0/5/25. Is removing RHS for 5 more points in honor really worth it?
That comes down to personal preference. How valuable is 20% shout CD to you? How often do you stay in sword? 10/30/0/10/20 is also an option. There isn’t really a “best build” unless you specify what you value most and not everyone can agree on those.
I feel as though you lose dps if you stay in sword. Use a proper greatsword rotation and then sword auto attack.
Example: Leap of Faith-Binding Blades-Symbol of Wrath-Whirling Wrath-GS Auto until sword auto is up. Rinse and repeat.
I also think keeping RHS is much better than getting 20% reduced CD. The crit chance for the sword’s auto attack benefits the build greatly.
There are too many situations where sword cleave is bad and i find it soooo boring. So going 30 in radiance is a waste for me. But yeah it is personal preference.
Theres no doubt that 10/30/0/5/25 is slightly better dps than 10/25/0/10/25 because you have 50 extra precision and right hand strength. But i feel the shout cooldown is pretty important in a lot of places and seeing as I hate camping sword, right hand strength doesnt get much use with my playstyle.
