Guild Wars 2

I’ve been working on getting things out of the way for the legendary weapon, like Badges of Honor, the lucky clovers, etc. etc… but my thing is. What one do I choose? I already have the Scepter, Focus, Greatsword and Hammer precursors just from luck. What is the best set up for Guardian? I know that I need to take my play style into account, but this game is just so versatile that I don’t mind either of the weapons.

Obviously yes, you need to take your play style into account when you decide, but I would say choose whatever weapon is your favorite. Honestly the bonus stats are not going to make that much of a difference in the long run, the only thing that matters is the look. I would personally go GS or 1h Sword as those are my favorite weapons/ favorite looking weapons in the game. If there is a weapon that you use in almost all your builds, I would go with that. Oh and whatever you don’t choose, make sure you send my way! (J/K but kitten you are seriously lucky with getting precursors to have all those)

Sunrise. It suits very well.

So four precursors? /blink /blink

Well the focus isn’t anything to write home about… but the hammer and greatsword I got lucky with at the mystic forge. scepter I got of Teq

Hammer is versatile in situation as opposed to the greatsword. I have the sunrise and currently forging my Juggernaut

Rumor has it sword/focus is a good combo. I personally prefer the shield for looks though but hard to overlook the focus Hammer / Juggernaut – that little piece is a bit stealthy. While it looks like a everyday hammer busting that beast out does some amazing things to your avatar’s look.

Greatswords just have a bunch more room for the artists to work with so yeah, Sunrise usually gets a lot of love.

I’m still amazed at the number of precursors. I’ve personally not tried the forge but started to save my 76 and above rares to give it a whirl. I have the karma and badges but not what I’d even consider to make. Probably the shield and a 1 handed sword I guess.

Sunrise have one of the most beautiful skins but if the most expensive to forje, charged lodestone are very expensive and really hard to get. Twilight is a good choice too.

I know I’m probably in the minority, but I actually dislike the appearance of the greatswords. The effects are nice, but the “skybox” texture of the actual model looks out of place, like it was pulled from a game from ten years ago.

I have a sylvari, so I’m going for the focus. It matches my character better than the hammer or scepter would, and it’s fairly versatile.

bitfrost. i played with a fellow staff/scepter+shield guardian and we carried our fractals team like a smooth breeze.

all im saying is that you should try playing staff guard. if i have a chance to make a legendary ill be making bitfrost.

giving +15 stacks of might to 5 players is a very huge boost to offense.

You got 4 precursors… yeah you are lucky! I am too the point were I will make whatever I can get precursor wise… and your biggest problem is choosing which one lol

Actually, I’m not. If it happens, it happens. The good news is that if you don’t have the precursor you want you are actually in a great position to sell. Then buy what you want and whatever is necessary to make it

:OOOO lol wait, quick question before we proceed. do you have even MORE precursors and just listed the ones your Guard could use? heh. i know you forged two, but even getting the Storm from Teq? very well done. and the epitome of first world Tyrian problems XDDD

personally, again, depends on your play style. i’m almost strictly two handed weapon wielder. so hammer or GS for me. personally LOVE the hammer and going for Juggernaut. for my GS’s, i prefer other skins : ))) the Scepter can be incredibly strong and useful in WvW or even some dungeon fights. just don’t feel the legendary matches the look and feel of the Guard though. and the focus. it’s a lovely weapon for us, however, again, the Anomaly is the best lookign focus in game for me right now. so working towards that isntead. yar 250 skillpoints after the legendary is gonna take a while XDD

Zomg! I also didn’t know anything about the Anomaly! That…looks way cool and I think I’ve found something to work for.

250 Glob of Ectoplasms? Houston, we have a problem! That is almost what, 70 gold at current market. Hmm…T3 culture armor or a shiny focus.

:DD 100 mystic coincs, 250 ectos, 250 skillpoints. heh. i’m one day hoping to get the peacemaker’s sword/mace for the pink/purple glow to match. if you wanna go all out, abyssal scepter + anomaly focus! :///

so there are a ton of non-legendary exotics to work towards as well. heh.

Juggernaut and Sunrise are your best bets.

the Hammer is the better weapon overall, but the whole day-theme of Sunrise fits the Guardian perfectly.

Personally, I think the Meteorlogicus looks the most fitting.

I’m sticking with the light-blue theme of the Guardian profession, so I don’t think the other legendaries fit very well.

The scepter aside, if I had to pick, I would choose the Juggernaut.

I’d do Juggernaut. But I like and use the Hammer a lot.

Actually, I’m not. If it happens, it happens.

I’m not begging any RNG, I’m grinding dungeons for cash (gold). Aaand in several months/years I’ll have enough for all the components, including precursors. Cash is king.

this is why i hate gw2. someone gets lucky and gets 4 kittening precursors, and im struggling grinding every day to get one. i farm about 10gold a day. the cost of the one i want goes up 10 gold a day.

Erigais, with 10g a day that’s a lot of attempts at the mystic forge to get your precursor for a lot cheaper than outright buying it. I spend 23 silver on one rare weapon, so around 1 gold per mystic forge attempt at a precursor.

I really like the looks of the greatswords and the hammer. The Scepter / Focus are nice but I think they’re be put on the back burner until ArenaNet can do something positive with the Scepter for Guardians.

This is all personal choice, and of course, it goes without saying that it “should” be a weapon that sees reasonable use/you really like to use.

I personally would love the look of my Fiery Dragon Sword with The Flameseeker Prophecies shield. Bonus points: it seems almost nobody likes it, so its precursor-The Chosen-is usually cheaper (though it increased 40g in price over the last week, quite sadly.)

I feel bad for the Greatsword-loving majority, because Sunrise/Twilight and their precursors are just so expensive due to popularity.

I LOVE the special effect on juggernaut but cant stand the weapon itself. >.<
