Guardian pvpvideo with meditations
I dig it, I’ve always wanted to try scepter instead of sword but I feel like I’m gonna miss the sword 3 burst too much.
This guy is a beast in pvp =). Fought him with my Guardian (Staff/Hammer) and with this build, staff was a no-no but i didnt had any other choice but to engage him.
GJ on that meditation build. Hope to see you again ;D

I also like the sword but Scepter works so much better in PvP and with right hand strenght hits like a truck

nice video and quallity, what do you use to record?
I liked watching it but to bad its all hotjoin stuff, i didnt see 1 enemy use the dodge button. i would really enjoy it more if you do toerneys and show ur actions there:)
I use Overwolf to record (you can get it by teamspeak) and windows moviemaker to cut and DivX converter for rendering.
I’m still looking for a party where i can be a premate member for tournament. I had some great fight scenes in tournament like 3v1 and i won but didn’t record.
I’m might going to join Zodins party for some tournaments next weeks, we will see.
Hi Manu,
what build do you use if it’s not a secret?
^ The builds are in the links below the video in the description at Youtube.
Awesome fights and superb skills, Manu. I have some questions about the gameplay, but let me first to share my concerns in a more explained context:
For a year and half I ‘ve been more oriented towards WvW raids and PvE than to sPvP and roaming. In sPvP I wasn’t satisfied about my builds (tank variants) due I wasn’t able to hold the points and barely was able to kill anything. After a long hiatus I did start to play sPvP a few weeks ago, this time using a double meditation build (10/10/30/20/0); the traits are II/III//I, X, XII/II, IX/. I’m using a berserker amulet and greatsword and hammer as weapons, with sigils of energy and hydromancy; the armor runes I use are the Soldier ones.
The reason due I use GS + Hammer is due most of control points in sPvP are very narrow (ouside the central area in Foefire’s Legacy) so is easy to hit multiple targets at the same time and therefore improving the support to my team. For similar reason I only use 2 meditations (JI and Smite Condition), keeping one slot for the shout “Stand Your Ground!”, which provides stability, condition cleansing and retaliation for me and my party.
My questions are: how hard is to play with a triple meditation build (aka: no stability sources) with the current meta of the game in sPvP and WvW roaming (lots of hammer-Warriors, Terrormancers and other heavy cc builds)? Is the sacrifice of HYG worth the gains of having a third meditation? I known that GS/Scepter + Focus (or sword) is better combo for duels than hammer + gs, but you think that scepter is still better in small team vs team skirmishes?
Thanx in advance for your answers :) .
It is way better to play with 3 meditations. Of curse you need the rune of Lyssa, too.
This is your stabilityskill if you really need one but way more important than any buff are the two ful cleans and the heal you can have with this. You have enough stunbreakers to fight every stun- or fearcannon. Hammer is just not a good choice at all as a guardian. The hammer is too slow. Scepter + focus is even in a teamfight a way better choice than any meele weapon because you can’t just jump into the fight. You start on range weaken some players and force them to use their dodge roll and cooldown. You pick out a player and than you burst him with your gs. Other guys take in the most cases AoE damage, too.
You need the scepter because you can’t just be infight the whole time as a dpsguard.
And you see maybe in my video that I always start on range first and that my scepter and focusskills all have an AoE ability.
I play the same build in Tournament, too and it works.
But in the end it’s up to you.
