Radiant Fire: – Gain Zealot’s Flame when you critically hit. 6s cd
This trait is already going to be OP. Every 6s you’re going to not only burn foes but can also throw a 1500+ damaging Zealot’s flame every 6s. The CD probably should change to 10s. It’s going to be fun breaking this till they nerf it :)
Inner Fire: – Grant 8s Fury when you strike a foe that has 3 stacks of burns. 10s cd
With all of our active burns 3 stacks wont be hard to reach. With a high fury uptime, curious to see exactly how much crit guardians will have from passive traits alone.
Zealous Scepter – Each F1 proc gives you Might.
This trait could sustain 3-5 stacks of might from Scepter alone. Not a bad minor trait.
Shattered Aegis: – Damage increased to 580+
I was always a fan of shattered aegis because I like seeing an aoe burst of 350 – 500+ per player nearby. This is now going to crit for 1500+ in full zerks thanks to the buff and all the damage modifiers :)
They were talking about Permeating Wrath’s burn proc around the target instead of yourself. I truly hope so. I’ll be able to use Bow and Scepter combination, burning foes at 900 – 1200 distance away.
My build setup will be 6 Radiance, 6 Honor and 6 Virtues. If we don’t get Permeating Wrath buff then a mix of Zeal and Virtue.

I like the Symbolic Avenger + Writ of Persistance combo. Hammer will now not only give perma protection, but also have a perma 20% damage modifier. We’ll have to see, but maybe Hammer will be the new meta.
I also like the 10% damage modifier when you have retaliation in combinaison with the minor from Virtue line that give you Retaliation when using a virtue. F1 spaming will be a lot stonger with that. GS + Sw/F still have some trick up its sleeves.
I wonder how you’d be able to throw the Zealot’s Flame from the trait though… Maybe it’d be F4?
But I think the immobilize on VoJ active hit will be really nice, particularly for GS builds that need that CC to take advantage of the new symbol traits.

I just hope they don’t nerf the actual weapon torch throw skill because throws in Zerker gear can hit over 5-6k.

They often split the coefficients between trait-proc skills and the skills themselves, so even if this were the case I don’t think you’ll have to worry about a nerf to the actual torch skill.
These traits are nuts Retribution in Radiance gives us a flat 10% boost to damage with Retaliation meaning the boon will mean something now. Monk’s Focus builds got buff with the new Smiter’s boon which essentially gives one more mediation in the healing slot and one more condition removing skill.
Burning now stacks (though that’s not good for fiery wrath), it’s everything I wanted from the Guardian and more this update is amazing!!!
yea but all the other classes are getting huge buffs too so technically we’re not going to be op

One thing I noticed is that for this it says “healing ability” whereas every other healing skill-based trait specifically says “heal skill”.
Makes me wonder if maybe it’ll proc with any sort of active healing?
First build I’ll use in my med guardian
GS, Scepter/Focus
ZEAL
Symbolic Avenger
Zealous Blade
Zealous Scepter
VALOR
Monk’s Focus
Communal Defenses
Smiter’s Boon
VIRTUES
Indomitable Courage
Absolute Resolution
Unscathed Contender
I can see my huge cleave incoming on downed people.

I’m pretty sure they also said that the specializations take up one of your trait lines, and you will only get access to the new weapon while using that specialization. so I believe you’d have to sacrifice one of those trees if you want to use the bow and scepter.
If the trait proposal doesn’t change, I predict my build for PVE as follows:
GS/Sc+F – Zeal (Fiery, Zealous, Symbolic) Radiance (Inner, Retribution, Amplified) Virtue (Unscathed, Absolute, Indomitable)
What I’m not so sure about is the big ‘burning’ unknown so if burning is favourable, I might use a torch and the following instead: Radiance (Inner, Radiant, Amplified).
Of course, if PVE content is harder like Anet claims, Mace with heals is looking amazing in PVE with the Zeal GM trait, and Honour.
Mace+F/Sc+F – Zeal (Fiery, Binding, Symbolic) Radiance (RH Strength, Wrath, Amplified) Honour (Invigorated, Pure, Writ)

I already swap back and forth between Battle Presence & Force of Will on my zerg-leader. Having both at the same time and getting a new bonus to healing power on top of that (improvement to Force of Will) is going to be amazing.
I’m surprised how little people seem to be talking about wrath of justice especially given all the bellyaching going on about the loss of glacial heart. Adding immob to your next attack with an instant cast is incredibly useful. It’s like panic strikes from thief but you can actually control when it goes off.

I can definitely see the use of Wrath of Justice in PvP. Although for now I am going to be skeptical about the internal cooldown of this trait. They didn’t show the ICD, did they? In some situations, without ICD, you could even get multiple immobilizes in combination with Renewed Focus, Renewed Justice, scepter’s Chain’s of Light and the signet. That’s a lot of hard CC there.

Since it’s a single target cc I wouldn’t be surprised if it didn’t have an icd to be honest.
We get completely countered by any type of class that knows how to kite a guardian. Not to mention most guards will save the F1 in conjunction with what ever combo they’re thinking of using it for.
Unless you spam F1 in a wvw Zerk fight over and over, it’s definitely not going to proc multiple times in a row like ele’s Cleansing Water (which actually needs an icd).
Pretty stoked for Shattered Aegis in particular, can’t wait for the obvious synergy with communal defenses.

I believe it’s 30s ICD, which may be lowered to 24 if you were to take the signet trait as well (which people probably won’t, to be honest). Good for the beginning of a fight, but since your VoJ will be off cooldown before the trait it might end up being difficult to use mid-fight.
