Guardian's Zealous Blade (Zeal Trait)

Yeah I noticed that too when I unlocked it. When things are hitting you for 1k+ a pop, that 25 HP isn’t going to do much at all to keep you alive. Even if it was something like 25% of + Healing or something not overpowered, it’d be more useful.
The idea is to use with your spin, but spin picks up 5 mobs at the most, so it’s 125 per tick. I am still not sure it’s worth it. Like you said, when you get hit for 1k, 125 heal isn’t impressive. I ended up not picking it and went for Honor 20 instead (25/25/20). I sure love the 20% 2h skill time reduction, a total life saver those extra 2 seconds.

Yeah same, and i understand with the spin its decent, however thats with max mobs, its pretty useless with veterans or champions.
And in most dungeons since there arent typically any difficult large mob of enemies (relatively speaking)

Yup, 125 that would be the most heal per tick you’d get. Granted you hit every mob with every spin. Didn’t seem liable to me. I’ve talked to quite a few Guardians who specced 30 in zeal though and they say they can see a difference. I’ve beaten up quite a few mobs in Myst and kept losing fights with 30 zeal.
sigh, makes me feel like the guardian is a foot soldier rather than any form of a tank
If you go into battle expecting to die you may live.

You can make a tank if you like with the mace/sword, but you wouldn’t put out any dmg

That’s because the guardian isn’t a tank, nor is any other class in the game. Greatsword would be a terrible weapon to tank with anyways.
This was great at lower levels but doesn’t scale with level or damage it seems. I would be interested to see a dev post regard anything that may affect the amount of healing returns per swing(more power or healing).
I’m also wishing that healing power would affect it or % damage or something. 25 really doesn’t help that much specially in orr lol.

Zeal traits as a whole really need to be worked on again. There are a lot of bland traits already, but 25 hp is definitely not worthy of a Grandmaster trait.

Anyone that specs defense and gears vit/toughness can be a tank. I dont get how you can say that.
Anyway, they need to set it to 100 health per hit at 80 and let plushealing give a 15% synergy. I believe that with a normal mod doing roughly 1.5 to 2.5k damage per hit this would be a balanced number worthy of a grandmaster trait that would be our main source of survivability. Kick morekitten – live longer. The base is set high enough to allow 0 healing to still be viable, and 15% synergy to allow a boost for certain cituations where you choose to trade off damage to live longer, without it being easy to abuse.

It’s more of a survivability boost for large AE groups than a tanking trait. Greatsword is not the weapon you’re looking for (nor is zeal the line you’re looking for) to be a defensive guardian.

This. I’ve been saying this since the trait-lines were released.
