Guardian's versatility (lack of...)
Due to our low health pool, no builds will exist other than Meditation / Shout builds. (I count burn as a medi build.) We cannot survive with out the valor line. We cannot survive without either Altruistic healing or Monk’s focus. This also a reason why traps will never see pvp play.
Not only that, but almost half of Giardian’s utilities and a good amount of traits are useless. That is why we feel so little options to choose.
List of useless utilities:
- Hallowed Ground;
- Sanctuary;
- Merciful Intervention;
- Signet of Mercy;
- Sword of Justice;
- Shield of the Avenger;
- Hammer of Wisdom;
- Bow of Truth;
- Signet of Courage;
- Traps? (not sure)
And useless traits:
- Wrathful Spirit;
- Healer’s Retribution;
- Radiant Retaliation;
- Battle Presence;
- The on fall trait;
- And there are other very weak traits…
This kills any sort of versatility.

- Sanctuary (Long recharge projectile protection with attached healing – Maybe a little revision)
- Merciful Intervention (Teleport/heal/gap close which can grant fury. Powerful skill – Not broken.
- Signet of Mercy (Flat 180 healing stat boost which can revive an ally – Not Broken)
- Sword of Justice (Can be traited to be a high power attack with a relatively low cooldown as well as burning and vuln – Not Broken)
- Shield of the Avenger (Periodically activates a shield of Absorption and can be triggered to inflict a Weakness condition while giving aegis to allies. – Too good. Needs nerf)
- Hammer of Wisdom (not as good as the SoJ, but includes an at-will KB. – Not broken)
- Bow of Truth (Easily managed to set this skill for a 5k heal burst that can be used three times before the bow itself needs to recharge – Not broken at all)
- Signet of Courage (Three second cast time beings all allies to full health. If you can’t make it work, then you clearly need to get gud because shi skill is highly overpowered. – Broken in players’ favor)
- Traps (Powerful in melee. Heal includes a large AoE Blind and area heal – Not broken)
And useless traits:
- Wrathful Spirit (Not impressive, but could potentially use a slight duration increase)
- Healer’s Retribution (5 seconds of retaliation whenever you heal, and it’s easy to aquire a 24 sec. Guardian heal – Not broken)
- Radiant Retaliation (Retaliation scales from condi in case you’re a condi build – Not broken)
- Battle Presence (Makes Vitue of Resolve’s heal a group heal. Strong group Passive healing – Not Broken)
- The on fall trait (Halves falling dmg and gives you protection – Not broken)
- And there are other very weak traits… (Nothing is perfect, but your concept of weak really needs some definition before oyu make sweeping generalizations like this, since you literally list nothing and that means you got bored when creating this post).
This kills any sort of versatility.

Mercurias, you are right in most of those fixes but I’ll just stick to spirit weapon part.
Our spirit weapons could be better if worked like minions and if not then SW cooldown should begin counting once we pop those weaps so that we won’t wait that long after they DIE LIKE A LIL’ BANANA ! Srsly, it just takes few flimsy hits or random AoEs to destroy those. I tried hammer cause it was really nice with that knockback-fest but before I could do some nice combos it just died off in the heat of battle. If those have to stay vulnerable like that, they could at least be invulnerable to AoE attacks and cleave damage, only target damage should work on them and perhaps 90% cooldown reduction when our weapon gets destroyed before it’s 50% duration time.
If not, then why… too much OP and it would make us get out of our comfortable “good spot” ?

Lel, you think Sanctuary could “use a little revision” but you think Signet of Mercy is just fine; that’s funny. A lot of the things he listed really don’t need any changes though.
Also Battle Presence is most definitely useless. A healing aura that’s up only like 20% of the time, or instant stability/stun-breaker on Virtue of Courage?

Well, at least guardians can be great aegis bots now that Shield of Judgment got buffed.

I dont know why but after the july 23 patch i only find one way to play guardian, or use fire to kill, but for that i would play classes that stack fire more easilly.
medi/shouts traited GS build tunned for some good crit and damage, out side that guardians are party leechers bots for aegis, swiftness, and remove condis with shouts.
We have trait conflicts, we dont have access to boon duration, healing is a awfull excuse to make guardian a low health class due healing scaling awfully, sanctuary CD is a joke for what it does and its size, the healing signet is impossible to cast in a fight since stability is instantly overrunned, SW are still non usable…yeah and DH does not impress, high damage and reduce cooldowns will only make game worse.
