Great thread with new information, I’m really glad that you started this. Someone might miss the 200 other threads stating the exact same information.
2 dodges negate traps…why is it so hard to dodge?, when you see DH standing on a point, consider all traps are at that point, come closer…dodge 2 times,negate traps…no dmg taken…kill DH…is it that hard?
I play DH and often do that strategy.
Ppl are stupid to learn counterplay. (proof: see burning guardian circle qq few weeks ago).
this is def a l2p issue since in the last week I’ve come across a lot more players who have “learned” how to dodge out of my traps. Its definitely nowhere near as easy to instakill players like it was in the first week.
Players have learned if they see a DH standing on point they need to range him not rush in.
Hopefully Anet realizes this and doesn’t hit too hard with the nerf hammer.

The average GW2 player doesn’t know how to do anything other than run around like a headless chicken while frantically mashing every hotkey that isn’t on cooldown.

Traps have a huge range, and does alot of dmg, I think it counter melee too hard and needs to be toned down.

A huge range that one dodge will completely clear. I’ve noticed most people in sPvP aren’t having trouble with traps any more – I thought all this crying about them was behind us since their counter is both easy and tremendously obvious.
Says this is not a complain thread and then proceeds to complain and cry. DH traps don’t one shot people. Test of faith only hits 66% dmg initially which won’t even take half your hp, its not our fault if you’re dumb enough to cross or teleport through the trap and eat 100% of the dmg. Procession of blades is the most telegraphed skill in this game, it is literally flashy greatswords whirling on point, if you eat that its also your fault. Dragon’s maw is not op because
1.its an elite
2.we give up RF to use it making us vulnerable
3.you can stun break out of it or teleport or stab or invuln or w.e
Fragments of faith is a defensive trap which barely deals damage. No one even uses the reveal trap and the heal trap is a trade off of shelter meaning we have less blocks.
Please understand how a set of skills work before you make a forum post crying about it and claiming they “1 shot” you. If you react slowly to skills and are unable to dodge thats not our problem, go away to the PvP section with the rest of the baddie solo q’ers and cry more about DH there. I’ll take all you bads seriously when DH actually dominates a legitimate tournament like ESLs/Proleagues.
After playing a lot of PvP sure I thought the traps were strong, but I have reached a point where I can say they are good, but not OP.

I keep saying over and over : traps don’t kill, incompetence does. At some point you should look at the mirror and say: maybe I’m not cut out for pvp.

Yep, they are pretty redonk. I think they needed to make them OP to counter how stupid the spec name is.
Yaaaa im gona have to call shinanigans on people saying “l2p”. I kick more kitten with traps than I do meditations. Guys I have 3.5k hours on my guardian. I should not be anywheres near as good with traps as I am with meditations. Traps OP. Initial damage is to much, the fact that they bearly have a cast time basicly makes them a suped up version of smite condition. Also to all that talk about dodging. 4 traps, 2 dodges. ~math~
I remember people saying l2p about Healing signet. D/D ele. Rampage. Mesmers stealth. etc etc. all got nerfed.
When I go into a pvp match and theres nothing but guardians playing traps, needs a nerf.
When I pvp a buddy who’s been playing thief since I last fought and beat him, and he tries out traps and kills me. Needs a nerf.

Maybe you are not good with guardian if buddy of yours beat you with it with no experience. Traps are easy to counter couse it have sound while placing plus you see person placing it on the ground. Ppl are already got used to it and avoiding it easily. DH is perfectly balanced so far, maybe best balance of all elites.
DH now is high risk / high reward: If you are careless you die pretty easily, if your enemy is careless he dies easily.

Mind him not. He’s an infamous troll, I burned him several times both in game and in forum. I literally stood there laid trap, even waved at him and he just blindly charged at me and got killed. He sucks at playing and argument. Just ignore him and he’ll be quiet, don’t bother with your time.

You know why i love DH its because i love watching simpletons that refuse to dodge for some reason in wvw its so kitten funny to see a herd of people run into a trap bomb and it really baffles me why they don’t just dodge away instead of giving me those juicy loot bags.
The DH specialization is meant to be the most damaging spec imo, I am not a DH player and I will never pick up the dragonhunter, I honestly hate the concept, but the traps are not OP
