I think your numbers might be off. Altruistic healing takes advantage of 1% of your total healing power. 69+ (0.01*Healing Power).

With 0 healing power + AH + Staff Empower + 5 people for 12 stacks (60 ticks) = 4140.
With 2000 healing power + AH + Staff Empower + 5 people for 12 stacks (60 ticks) = 5340.

Healing power is just weak for AH.

Might just double check your formula.

EDIT: Nevermind. Just saw that you added the 1500 heal from the staff itself. I find healing power and AH is rather a waste. I would only roll healing power if I was doing symbol healing or the Healway build. Is rather odd that our class is all about the heals but all of our abilities have week coefficients when it comes to applying healing power.

Selfless daring is the only one that takes advantage of our healing power to the fullest since we can only dodge roll twice without vigor or food.

EDIT: Nevermind. Just saw that you added the 1500 heal from the staff itself. I find healing power and AH is rather a waste. I would only roll healing power if I was doing symbol healing or the Healway build.

AH scales poorly with healing power (1500 healing power is a whopping 15 extra healing), but with the Mace it can trigger up to 5 times per second because the Symbol regen boon triggers every second.

(0 +healing) With Symbol of Persistence it makes the Mace regen pulse 6 times so 6*5*69 = 2,070 extra healing to yourself. By yourself AH + Mace is an extra 414 healing which isn’t that impressive so the full benefit is near other players. That’s assuming they’re standing in it for the full duration.

With the Staff it’s just silly. It can proc 60 times (12 stacks of might for yourself + 4 people) in its full duration. 69*60 = 4,410 healing.

I’d prefer seeing numbers for the less obvious skills and traits like:

Shield of Absorption
Pure of Heart
Bow of Truth: Command
Sanctuary
Regeneration (the boon, makes a big diff)
Tome of Courage (if it scales)

I think the healing power coefficients are pretty good to be honest. Imagine how fast the nerf hammer would come flying if AH healed for 150 or so per boon? Imagine how unkillable a mace Guardian would be with 30 Honour if those heals scaled higher.
I usually run full Cleric’s exotics and I barely need to use my #6 at all.
I think people just want more heals for little to no investment in healing gear.

Although I think a trait somewhere like 5%-10% of healing power becomes power would make healing gear a little more useful though. I would say stick it in the Honour line but there’s so many good ones in there already…

Both: Regeneration: 130 + (0.125 * Healing Power) per second

At first glance the guardian has the ele beat about sheer amount of options but when you look at the elementalist he has more abilities available on his weapon while attuned that give a crazy amount of healing.

Water Blast – 370 Healing – Water Blast appears to gain 10% returns from Healing Power. For example, 100 Healing Power increases the healing from Water Blast by 10.
Geyser – 808 healing – 2 second duration – Amount Healed = Base Amount + Healing Power * 0.25 – Heals for 3 times if stayed in the whole duration
Healing Rain – See Above….
Water Trident – 1448 healing – Amount healed = Base Amount + Healing Power (so 1*healing power?)
Cone of Cold – 740 healing – Amount healed (total) = Base Amount + Healing Power * 0.32
Cleansing Wave – 1302 healing – Amount healed = Base Amount + Healing Power
Tidal Wave – 325 healing – (not sure if this is affected by Healing Power)

I guess what I am trying to get at is it seems Elementalist benefit and can use healing power more effectively than a guardian.

Yeah, exactly.
I use mace+ shield/focus as secondary weapon set, the shield/focus with sigil that restore 50% endurance on weapon swap, mace with sigil that refills full endurance on kill. I gain incredible amount of energy for a lot of dodge-heals.

How does regen work with boon duration bonuses? If you have +30% boon duration, does it mean your regen’s heal for 30% more or do they pulse an extra time?

So if you have 30% bonus and it’s a 6 second regen it’ll be 7.8 seconds instead and pulse every 1s?

All boon (and condition) durations are calculated accurately to a very fine degree; they are not rounded to the nearest second or quarter second (unlike what the tooltips often show). So 30% bonus on a 6 second regen = 7.8 s regen (6 * 1.3). However it will only tick 7 times (one more tick than the unbuffed regen), because regen ticks only every second. Essentially the extra 0.8 seconds is wasted.

This is based on the wiki skill descriptions. I’ve exclude all regeneration applying utility skills and just included regeneration as its own group.

I’ve left merciful intervention and sanctuary off because I couldn’t find data on how they scaled with healing power. Growth calc is simple (end/beg-1).

I did this quickly on my lunch break, so check for errors…

edit: assumed no trait bonuses, just HP increase.
