Q:
Help me understand this patch note plz
A:
Before the patch though, all traps would apply an unblockable daze upon being triggered even if the trap’s trigger damage itself was blocked.
The significance of that patch note means that now, the daze portion of the trap is applied seprately of a trap’s trigger damage. So while test of faith’s trigger is unblockable, its daze is not.
It means the daze from test of faith no longer goes through blocks.
I didn’t get why it was nerfed. There are other skills in game that are unblockable and CC. Necro warhorn 4 for example.
It’s probably because we already have adequate, unblockable CC (Heavy Light, and our f1 pull) as is, and having all of the traps apply unblockable daze gave us too much unblockable CC in the eyes of ANET.
Only one trap is unblockable.

What Necro can do has no relevance to what Guardian can do.

Heavy Light is unblockable? If it is, it should be a bug since nowhere in the tooltip does it say it should be.
He meant with deflecting shot.

I didn’t understand your point.

cause it was abusable as hell to teleport on someone place 3 traps and Watch em Explode?.. also because the Daze caused so much disruption it was ridiculous when it came to throwing em about during a team fight.
Remember the Dragonhunter will have become inheriantly stronger this Season
Thief is now meta, we hard counter the thief.
Our biggest counter Tempest got nerfed bringing down auras and cele removal has ment our damage is sticking more.
No more bunkering = Spike damage is much more impactful and that’s what we’re built off.
if they left our traps as they were as we went into the new meta, even tho high tier SPVP It was never considered overpowered, it’d of become overpowered.
Plus Anet love Necros and making it uptoo them for sucking for 3 years
I think you’re just confused.
Only one trap was unblockable making the daze unblockable. It provided excellent counter tactics vs classes with blocking such as mesmer and revs. It also worked well against other guardians. The other traps are blockable so the daze was avoidable.
Now, they nerfed two things. One, they reduced the duration of daze from 1 second, to half a second. Understandable. But for some reason they decided to also eliminate the unblockable daze aspect from test of faith.
The supposed daze spam you’re talking about will still happen anyway. They didn’t remove the daze trait from DH. So gods know why you decided to mention it when we’re only talking about test of faith. The only thing they really took away was one unblockable daze that was excellent for disrupting stomps/rezzes.
You’re also confused about another aspect. I didn’t say DH/guard got nerfed to the ground or that the class is in a bad place in pvp currently. I merely explained that the test of faith daze nerf was unnecessary considering they already reduced the daze duration, and other classes already have access to unblockable dazes/stuns.
