Help needed: WvW zerg / havoc build
I am personally a big fan of running full Celestial on guardian. I didn’t care for DH much at first but the more I’ve played it, the more its grown on me.
My roaming Guardian build: http://asphyxia.tv/guardian/
My group play Guardian build: http://asphyxia.tv/wvw-front-line-guardian-build/
Both running full celestial, its a good hybrid set that does a lot of damage between burning and raw damage and provides a lot of support with the heals.
No input on the basic question Great

Yeah I mean no offense when I say this – but what I was getting at is to scrap it and try out one of the builds I gave you lol. If you want me to give you critical details on why your build wouldn’t do as well, I can do that too.
Traveler runes are a waste of stats for the ability to move a little faster. If you’re running with a group, you should always have swiftness. Run something like Scrapper runes, a lot better for giving you more power, toughness and damage reduction.
Carrion armor won’t let you do much raw damage because you have no precision or ferocity. Either go with Celestial or choose to be either power or condition – hybrid builds don’t work very well without Celestial gear. Your burns do not deal enough damage to be effective enough to not care about power in larger group play, so you do need to have power, precision and ferocity for your damage to matter.
Mace mainhand is veryyyyy weak for WvW game play. Shield is not that great either. I suggest taking Staff, GS or Hammer in the place of those. If you’re not roaming, sword/focus aren’t too great either. For roaming, sword/focus is fine but I’d perfer Scepter/Focus and GS if you’re opting to not run longbow.
If you’re going to run Radience line, why not run a torch off hand? That is the best thing about that line since you’re running radient flame, which is a torch skill. Honor would be a better line to take if not running torch offhand.
Running 3 meditations for group play isn’t going to help you very much,
Like I said, the reason I offered my build is because it is pretty much everything you’re missing. If you don’t want to run dragonhunter, drop that line for Honor, drop Longbow for Staff, drop the traps for “Renewed Focus” and “Hold the line!”

I had the same idea some time ago, but with a difference, i used power instead of condition.
But what i can comment on is: mace/shield with:
HONOR: invigorated bulwark(+healing on block)——pure of heart(heal on aegis block—-writh of persistence(heal while on symbols)
plus stalwart defender (shield trait +240 thoug.) from VALOR,
i had so much fun in wvw frontline fights, if u can properly time your blocking skills u have atleast 450 perma healing, when i play that build with defensive gear im always one of the last to be killed while we wipe in wvw,
For a more offensive (berserker with trapper runes) build i running dragonhunter for LB/ Mace+shield = virtue leap in→land traps→ block and run TP to the backline with merciful intervention!
Another thing i could suggest to you, if change sword for something else or swap judge intervention with smite conditions or contemplation of purity,
u already have a “leap”(sword 2), and merciful intervention to TP in the back and if u are going to be frontlike wvw, u are going to need something more defensive(smite condition low CD healing/condi remover) or a defensive stunbreak (contemplation of purity)
As for the DH one, maybe is something im gonna try but in a different way :
i will concentrate on aoe burning (VALOR burn from symbols) and maybe it’s fun!
or maybe it’s not! we’ll see.

If you would like to experiment on builds hit me up (I ll add you too)! I would love to get some funky zerg frontline builds off of ya

Now that was a proper awnser, and for that, thank you!
What about healway builds? Can it be viable in zerging, while also netting bags?
My oroginal idea was to fit a role where I can “protect”/buff/or even heal the frontline while surviving a lot (blocking) → also with that tagging every enemy for a nice little bag of goodies.
Sorta like a walk in walk out while being useful and also tagging up the enemy. I dont want to be the holy trinity in one package I want to be the one who can prevent zerg wipes or even prolong the inevitable.

Pretty much any Guardian build with a staff on can collect mass amounts of loot in zerg fights as long as it can stay alive. I think if your idea is to protect your group a lot, you might want to consider Elementalist though. Guardian does it well, but a full support Guardian won’t out-do a full support Elementalist.
If the goal is just living forever and supporting allies, run full Nomad gear and a staff.

I made this tank build just for you based on what you were talking about. If you prefer mace/shield, you can swap the GS for it. I personally am not a fan of Mace at all though, just very slow and lacking.
Here’s some random builds I’ve made, because theory crafting is fun:
Objective Trapper
Built to never really be in contact with a zerg, but can still light them on fire like a portable mortar. I’ve tried a watered down version of this and it actually worked pretty well for its gimmick. Just be prepared to fear Retal and run from everyone.
Honey Badger
For when you really just don’t want to care
Healway Returns
I wouldn’t actually say this is the return of Healway, but it hits some of the concepts.
Staff Boonbot
Perma 3-4 boons with over 50% uptime on basically the rest (Quickness and Resistance being exceptions. Sigil of Celerity instead of Agility can significantly change Quickness uptime). Not the worst possible damage for support considering you can keep 25 Might up and hit just under 3k power. Swiftness for everyone for days.
I just like to make stuff and things.

Honestly I think conditions still aren’t that great for zerg fights, and with the stability change, hammer trains are a common appearance. So definitely switch to power.
Guardians provide great utility and make up the frontline with Warriors.
Your stats should go survivability>damage
You could run unkillable Nomads or even healing Clerics, but I think the healing should be left for water field blasting.
I personally run Soldiers (haven’t changed from the stability nerf) with Melandru Runes (the cheaper variant).
With the True Shot nerf, it’s getting harder and harder to choose the Longbow over Hammer/GS, unless you’re running havoc or pirate ship.
Focus is a bit selfish. Shield is a better option for zerg fighting, and you can’t beat the loot stick.
How about this one?

Tanky as kitten, I can walk in and out and give aegis all the way Breaking aegis gives a lot of healing. this would be useful for smaller groups tho :/
More power version:

u wont b able to win nor stale matches with those stats u need damage to make your oponing think twice when u atack back, all that is needed to kill a sturdy guard is pressure and kill…they are easy targets(easiest class to defeat in my opinion, not much effort is needed).
For havoc i would remocomend a traditional GS medi trapper with high damage output, for zerg play full soldier or celestial, and probably chest settler for some more vitality if needed.
Bigger spike damage, more easy and fastest win, something like that.
@Szeraf.5781, purging flames is very situational and easy to spot will only hit awfully bad players getting in and out of it to heat that much, a party spike of 5 PF on the other group might be nasty. wvw is all about spam as muchaoe if possible, it migh work.

If you really want to support your group then stick to what guard does best. Bring might with empower, stability with shouts, and blasts with hammer 2. To get all of the extra support utility in your build you are giving up a lot. I LOVE mace shield guard it just doesint seem to fit anywhere in the game.
