I am running a AH build, and need some advice on where to go with my ascended gear choices.

Right now my armor is all soldier gear, except for my helm which is knight. My greatsword and sword/shield is all knights. My trinkets, rings, amulet, are split between knights and valkyries.

I don’t want to waste lauerls by buying gear in error. I was originally going to convert all my trinkets to knights, but I feel like the loss of vitality would really cut into my survivability.

I am not a grade A player.. so I like having the hit points to soak up my errors. I also like running head long into zergs during WvW and not dying. With my current stats I can pretty much survive a head long rush into a zerg long enough to scatter them and retreat back behind my zerg.

Anyways, my question.. do you guys think an even split between valk and knight ascended gear is a solid choice or am I gimping myself somehow?

I am also running an AH build, but my gear is less forgiving than yours. I’m running Knights/Zerk gear. I’m running all Soldier runes with precision in my knights weapons. GS/Ham or Staff. For my trinkets I went all zerk.

Now, to answer your question, It seems like your armor is giving you tons of health. Over time you will get better and your armor will start to transition to more damage instead of health. Unless you are doing a pure bunker build and you don’t really care about damage, I would continue going with knights, but If you want to transition to more damage output later down the road then start replacing your soldier/knights gear with knights/zerk.

I think you should mix cavalier, soldier, and knight gear. You’ll be tanky and dish out good DPS

Naa, you’d be fine. Your toughness is way up there. I have around 80ish less toughness than you and 1.6k less HP. You can go ahead and drop some of that vitality

That makes sense, but as you get better you can drop some of the vitality you have from gear and convert it into another secondary stat like precision or more toughness. Your toughness is already really high, so you could probably put it into precision

It looks like you want to focus on WvW and I have not done real WvW to give you solid advice, but I do run an AH build.

I went full zerk trinkets and knights armor works out well.
