I have not purchased HoT yet and I was not in Beta, so I have some questions regarding Dragonhunter.

1. When Dragonhunter line and Longbow is equipped, if I unequip Dragonhunter line, do I automatically unequip the Longbow? If yes, what happens if I do this while my inventory is full?

2. When Dragonhunter line is equipped, if I activate Virtue of Justice/Resolve/Courage, do 5 allies within 600 range still get Justice(active)/Healed for 1000/Aegis?

3. How does Dragonhunter’s new Virtues interact with:
i) Renewed Justice
ii) Wrath of Justice
iii) Courageous Return
iv) Purity of Body
v) Inspired Virtue
vi) Virtue of Retribution
vii) Absolute Resolution
viii) Supreme Justice
ix) Power of the Virtuous
x) Battle Presence
xi) Indomitable Courage
xii) Permeating Wrath?
Which traits have a delay in activating because the new Virtues are not instant? Which traits literally dont work anymore?

4. How does Smiter’s Boon work with the Heal Trap?

5. In your opinion, is it worth it buying HoT solely to change Guardian to Dragonhunter?
I only play Guardian, and Dragonhunter is really the most important(make it or break it) point for me when it comes to buying HoT. To me, everything else(story, masteries etc) is just bonus. If Guardian is better than Dragonhunter in every aspect, I am not buying HoT. If they will release future content only for HoT purchasers, then I will just quit at that point.

I can answer a few.

1. it goes into an overflow box.

3.×. I ran around with Battle Presence most of the beta. Seemed to work fine as a Dragonhunter. Keep in mind BP already took a nerf in that it now shuts off while your VoResolve is on cool down for Guardians and Dragonhunters.

5. Dragonhunter isn’t quite make it or break it for me, but with 5 Guardians in my stable, it is far and away the most important Espec for me. I think it’s close to being that fun/good. It needs a few bugs ironed out (the new virtues need more range, more area of effect and instant cast would certainly help…). It needs it’s traits seriously steamlined and the 20% cooldown for traps and 20% cooldown for bow skills added somewhere. It also needs some numbers tuned: the risk to payoff on the Longbow 2 skill just ain’t there yet. I WANT it to self root, and in return for that I want it to hit like a truck dropped off the side of a mountain falling 3,000 straight down before it lands on my target — CRUNCH. Right now its just the risk. But I like the concept of the bow skills a lot.

If it gets a good polish pass it could be GLORIOUS.

I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

2. No you lose the effect on the vanilla actives

5. Dragonhunter is awesome, strong reason for me for longing for HoT release. It bring a new playstyle to the guardian, where hang back and deal damage (without doing any support), then if you want do provide support move in and play your normal melee guardian, the back out again. Current ranged weapons don’t really let you stay at range, so as ranged damage dealer the dragonhunter is definitely better than guardian (edit: in another thread I ran the math: longbow outdoes the alternatives in ranged damage). The traps which nicely fill the hole in PBAoE abilities and work with the longbow if you think ahead, though they don’t expand the guardian’s abilities as much as the longbow.
