Guild Wars 2

So I’m running an AH guardian with stats of 2.9k atk, 3k armor, 16.5k hp, 40% crit rate and 60% crit dmg with 0/15/30/20/5 trait build. From dulfy’s guide, I’m supposed to circle strafe Subject 7 and not hit the ooze. When I tried to circle strafe however, the ooze will eventually go near Subject 7 (to get closer to me to hit me), blocking my orbs. Scepter damage is also not high enough and eventually Subject 7 will start to outheal my damage. I tried melee-ing using sword, but I can’t avoid killing other oozes either. Any other suggestions? I’m thinking of pulling/pushing Subject 7 to a wall, and then use scepter to range it while strafing left and right. Is that possible?

I just hopped on my necro, auto-attacked with scepter, and got the achievement without thinking.

I noticed with guardian scepter that #2 would make oozes pop out next to Subject 7, which made finishing it impossible. Try circle-strafing a little bit closer so that the oozes don’t hop too far. At the end, you have to switch to something with some burst like greatsword and hope there aren’t oozes in the way. You probably also want to change up your spec for this fight to pick up right-handed strength and possibly scepter mastery in Zeal.

in addition to boosting your gear, i’ve heard that you should circle strafe but only in a quarter of the room. so like you said, strafign back and forth. since if you went full circle, no matter how far or close you are, the oozes that spawned at the beginning of your strafe could end up aggroing towards you, i.e. walking across the dome and ending up near subject 7, where he’ll get healed. may be a good idea to use Shield of the Avenger to negate the dmg from the mini oozes and strafe within the shield while it’s up.

another tactic is to use sword and as the mini oozes spawn near you, keep moving into subject 7 and he’ll actually move back so you’ll be leaving a trail of mini oozes behind you while pushing subject 7 away from them and you can safely hack away. still be mindful of course as thsi method’s not 100%failsafe but it’s how i got the achieve : ))

iirc, the spec i used was 10/30/20/0/10 (II/VI,X,XI/VI,IX,-,1), sword shield. also, use shield to push mini oozes back and subject 7 away to separate them when they get overwhelming, though i didn’t have to use shield in my fight either.

I did it pure powa style =)
My build was 30/30/10/-/- (II, VII, XI – III, IV, VIII – VI)
Gear absolutely full berserk with fighter runes.
Trinkets full bers too
Weapon GS and Staff. I didn’t change my sigils cuz its my main WvW weapon set, didn’t wanna waste money
Skills: Signet of Resolve, Sword of Justice, Shield of the Avenger, Save Yourselves and my little puppies Hounds of Balthazar
Strategy: when you’re inside summon everything (sword, shield and dogs), buff yourself and them with Staff4 and Save Yourselves then switch to GS and go!go!go! GS3 – GS2 and spam GS1 and 3 pushing it away from its healers till you kill it. I did it in like 10 seconds (I also had gambits cripple, Exhausted and On Fire on me) =)

I finally got the achievement a few hours ago. I went 10/30/20/0/10, with fiery wrath and torch CD skill. Weapon is sword/torch + shield. Utility is wall of reflection, shelter, sanctuary and bane signet (for extra damage).
I followed Akamon’s advice, moving forward with each ooze popped out. Used torch 4,4 for spike damage, shield 5 to push subject 7 away from ooze, wall of reflect when ooze starts to increase, sanctuary for additional push, while whittling subject 7’s hp. Took me about 3 tries.

I somehow got it first try (that I was trying to do it) with a spirit weapon build and sceptre. I even gave up at 30% because I thought i’d killed a couple of oozes, so just went all out. Then I won and got the ach. My only assumption is that spirit weapons don’t count!
