There’s always the glacial heart trait, or you could use a sigil of hydromancy.
I mostly use sword or greatsword for chasing people, although I don’t have much experience with hammer. The chain and ring stuff can sometimes be useful for grabbing people, especially since you can teleport into the ring. Staff can also drop a line, though you still gotta kill them after that.
Speed and lack of any reliable CC or duration let us say. Thus the one complaint people have about some classes being able to reset the fight at will. That is, if you are talking about PvP/WvW.
If this is PvE then just do what the rest of the players do. Rack, Stack, and destroy. Or, spend 9 hours trying to avoid a pack of trash

Or I can if I have? Or I can if I don’t want to have to use runes or sigils for it when other classes it comes naturally? I will say the 2 x Sigil change will make it a wee bit more acceptable but still.

-25% combat speed strike again…. Especially since every other class has wide access to swiftness, 25% speed signet, or 25% speed trait. Guardian’s “catching” is the worst among the classes with our high cd cc and limited access to cc. Things like -40% condition duration food (lol, immobilize) and runes of melandru don’t help us either :/

trait is garbage is cause it needs a hammer and 30 sec CD
I shouldn’t have to commit a rune set just to obtain some remanence of mobility. For the most melee centric profession, the lack of such mobility and soft-cc bothers me. I say the most melee centric because of our terrible ranged weaponry.
