How about making them stick to the guardian and attack simultaneously with the finally auto attack chain skill for melee weapons? For ranged weapons they would work as they do now. This way there is some more control over their DPS contribution while giving some counter-play.

Most guardians I know would rather they just scrap them completely and make something new.

As is they are an easily killed source of AI damage that is crap otherwise.

If they just buffed their survivability & AI you would basically end up with a weaker version of MM necro. (which is extremely simplistic)

Starting from scratch would allow them to make something new without the current constraints they have.

Allot of the people I know would like to see them made into weapon summons similar to the ele weapon summons, just timer based and for guardian use only.

Others would like to see them made into banner or (traited) turret type summons.

If done well either would be an improvement of how they are currently.

When the tome elites were removed, it was fairly strongly hinted that tomes might be brought back as part of an elite specialisation. If such an elite specialisation doesn’t implement them as something similar to conjured weapons, I’d be very surprised.

I personally don’t see it being a problem if spirit weapons behave similar to limited-duration necromancer minions. First, there’s the distinction that necromancer minions are all offensive, while two of the spirit weapons are defensive in nature, and even the hammer does more than just attack even when left to its own devices. Second, overlaps between the professions are part of GW2 profession design: it makes up for not being able to take secondary professions.

Finally, I don’t see how making them turrets rather than minions improves it much. Minions actually see play in PvP. The last time I saw a turret in PvP that wasn’t Healing Turret was before HoT released.

The problem is that they went from being indestructible except through command skills (overpowered… apparently, and really only for the shield even then) to being knocked over by a stiff breeze (generally not worth bringing).

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.
