I am curious if anyone tested which skills allowed us to insta stomp in WvW?

I am talking about applying quickness which allows us to Finish a downed opponent in 1/2 the time it usually takes.

I usually have “Save Yourselves!” which adds Swiftness, but that doesn’t seem to work.

Guardians’ only source of Quickness (the buff that makes skills activate twice as fast) is in Tome of Wrath.

Hmm, I was able to perform it a couple of times without the Tome of Wrath. I did use Save Yourselves, I wonder if I pulled a boon from someone having the quickness at the time then?

swiftness =/= quickness. Swiftness is MOVEMENT speed, quickness is ANIMATION speed.

edit: you could have gained quickness from mesmers elite time warp

Interestingly enough, Quickness doesn’t count as a boon. It’s an effect. So you couldn’t have converted a condition into Quickness. You probably stepped into a Time Warp, or someone used Tome of Wrath on you.

Thanks guys, at least I know not to bother swapping skills to look for the quickness.

i have gotten it before as well – haven’t figured out from who and what exactly. and it didn’t last long.. but DMG racked up and things died FAST.D

Looks like Time Warp is the only one that can grant it to other players.

Also you don’t draw boons from others with Save Yourselves, you draw conditions from your allies. It also gives you a bunch of boons, but that is even if there are no allies around.

I have a Sigil of Rage on my GS and occasionally in WvW the buff procs just prior to them going down, which leads to a near insta-stomp. It’s got a long CD and unreliable, but really the only way Guardians can achieve spike damage levels.
