…we should trust in the decisions of developers on skills and provide useful information about the skills/traits they give us; why they do not work as intended, as they designed; and tell them obvious flaws (though, i am not sure if “flaw” is the right word) and ask for fix.

Instead of ‘’This skill/trait is bad, use this instead", the feedback we’re giving should be like “Cooldown feels a bit too long” or “Rage too short”. It’s much easier (and likely) for devs to tweak skills and traits by adding/substracting properties than entirely rework how they play.

For example; we all want better shield skills, since they are just awfully incompetent with other Off-Hand weapon skills. Suggesting different skills with all new animations, sound effects and balancing issues will get us nowhere (no matter how awesome ideas they are). Those threads just invisible to the devs’ eyes. Instead, just provide info on why they are not useful, and point out possible “fixing” posibilites with good reasoning. For example, getting additional boon and damage increase on Shield 4; or cast time reduction on Longbow 5; or projectile speed increase on Scepter 1 are much more likely to happen than super-special-awesome rework ideas.

That being said; do not stop creating threads that introduce new, amazing ideas.
Just because they are (almost always) not impacting devs’ plans for future skill/trait tweaks, doesn’t mean they do not use those ideas for new traits and weapon skills, and utilites, etc. Just be more realistic and expect reasonable respond from devs to your complaints/ideas for the things we are suffering from (still looking at you, Shield).

Sorry for the kinda wall-ish text. I’m almost sure it’ll just be ignored; but even if I reach one person, it just increases the possibility of our chance to make our voices reach to the devs.

PS: Ignore all of this when you’re talking about Spirit Wepons. Those kittens really need gigantic overhaul.

The problem I have with this is that I so strongly dislike everything they’re giving us with the Dragonhunter that the only way I would be satisfied is if they restarted from the ground up. And gave it a different name.

Wouldn’t mind these few skills being reworked a little like you said not a lot of change to animation:

-Shield skill#5 allow you to block melee attacks not just ranged.
-Shield skill#4 add a knock back – Shield with two knockbacks sounds a lot more fun and useful imagine it with the DH trait that cripples on knockback can kite better with bow a lot synergy.

-Sword skill#3 add some range. The warrior berserker version can move and has longer range.
-Greatsword whirl finisher on light combo fields cleanse condition on yourself also would be nice.

-Dragonhunter and other weapons i’ll leave too others can’t be too greedy! Oh wait maybe 25% movement trait instead of Hunters fortification thanks :P

I think I’ve been through all the reasons why some of the Dragonhunter traits are bad. If they haven’t seen that feedback then sure, I’ll be happy to go through it again;

- Only traps causing Bleed doesn’t give the Dhunter much synergy with other parts of the Guardian’s kit. We need other ways to cause bleed because the Guardian is pretty bad at condi layers atm.

- The last Trait overhaul consolidated a lot of traits but the Dragonhunter feels like it was created before the overhaul with several traits feeling like they could easily have been merged. Traits like all the traits that effect virtues, Dulled Senses and Heavy Light.

- Our minors don’t synergize with each other AT ALL. Defender’s Dogma and Pure of Sight? No synergy there. Pure of Sight should be merged with Hunter’s Determination and something else should take it’s place in the minor GM slot.

And I believe that’s me done.

PS: Ignore all of this when you’re talking about Spirit Wepons. Those kittens really need gigantic overhaul.

I like Spirit Weapons, especially the hammer….. but I guess that’s just me.

@ Toaster

The problem with your suggestion is that allot of abilities that people make suggestions for are just plain bad.
It won’t matter how low you make the cool downs, the skills themselves will still be bad.
