Or is it pointless?

I assume it would be useful in zerg fights, but what about roaming?

My frontline Guardian use between 2800-3000 armor depending on the situation and composition of the enemy zerg we encounter the most during a certain raid. I know a lot of ppl are using about 3200 armor. More than that seem completely useless to me. Whatever amount of toughness won’t make you invulnerable, you still need to move, dodge, block etc. So for me the toughness/vitality is only a buffer, enough to keep me alive to get out of danger or block. Since in ZergvsZerg there is too much stuff going on to see everything coming, you need a good amount of surviability stats. But you still want as low as possible. The right amount of defense you need to be able to keep fighting in a fight is totally depending on you and your gameplay. For exemple, i know i need 3000 armor if i’m gonna use my hammer, but 2800-2900 is fine if i have my Greastword because the leap is a beast to get out of difficult situation and move out of those nasty AOE. But 3200 armor is usually a good start.

I’d be looking at Celestial(looking at you 2700 number above) OR FULL BERZERERKER for roaming. Both are pretty amazing, with Celestial performing splendidly in a Havoc Squad and BERZERERKER while soloing.
As for Zerging? As many have mentioned, going for such insane toughness is NOT WORTH IT and you’re much better of packing Healing Power to keep yourself and your allies alive. It simply gives more bang for the bunk in such scenarios.
