Guild Wars 2

Had a small guild pvp tourney last night. I did alright with my trap ranger.

Until I fought a medi guard in our guild. And while I blew everyone else up, he dominated me no matter what I tried. I couldn’t kite. My dmg from range is insignificant. When I got close, I took all his dmg, he took very little of mine.

Should I care? Or is medi guard really just a insane counter to a condi ranger.

in WvW roaming its fairly strong since you can boost the damage up to quite significant levels with ascended gear and food/oil/guard stacks to the point of it being an instant 100-0 burst on anyone not prepared.

in spvp however its barely tier 2. It doesn’t do enough damage to justify the squishy-ness and hasn’t enough sustain to outlast any meta bruiser spec.

If I wanted opinions on condi rangers, I would of went to the ranger forum.

ps- In pvp today, I melted nearly everyone I came across. I didn’t need guard stacks, oil and food.

Pretty much this. Even with ground targeting, Trap Ranger was never really all that good.

That didn’t seem to stop Anet from wanting to make another one for Guardian players though! Oh boy!
