Renewed Focus is an awesome skill, I probably don’t make the most of it and use it only as a lifeline, but again, I do not feel it is working as intended.

The definition of “Invulnerable” is “Impossible to harm or damage” So why is it I still take damage from existing conditions such as bleeds and poisons?
Can anyone tell me if that’s the intended effect or not?

I thought the same.
I specced Absolut Resolution, so Renewed Focus would bring Virtue of Resolve back up and I could despell the conditions, which would kill me after the invulnerability, but so I am dying during the channel.

And it also would be nice when the Virtues would reset, even when you break the channel. So reset on the beginning, not the end of the skill.

These stats were put on you before or during the skill? Because if it was before I think dot will continue, but no new stats can be aplied during the 3s….

No they are pre-existing condtions, but surely if you do become invunerable, it should negate those conditions for those 3 seconds

I’m sure it’s a bit bugged as it really should negate those conditions for the duration.

I’ve never seen an immunity skill protecting from debuffs that were on before the skill is used in any mmo. Pretty sure it’s working as intended. Would be kinda OP if it did protect from conditions that were already on.

I’m only responsible for what I say, not for what you understand.

Hi MrEpsilon,

Invulnerable, according to the wiki, is a status that prevents damage and new conditions. In other words, any Invulnerable character or mob is totally unaffected by any attack skill, targeted or otherwise. Invulnerability, however, does not negate existing conditions.

For more evidence of Invulnerability at work, consider the Mesmer sword skill “Blurred Frenzy,” which applies two seconds of invulnerability. It works more or less exactly like the Invulnerability of Renewed Focus.

Now, whether or not ongoing condition damage for the duration of Renewed Focus is working as intended, or compatible with the overall theme and feel of Renewed Focus, is something we’d need ANet to comment on. But until that happens, Renewed Focus will not negate condition damage.

Immune to all damage/effects, and cleanses all current effects when used. This is Immunity.

GW2 “invulnerable” is something not quite invulnerable.
