Is a shout/hammer build worthwhile?
No one has an opinion? I’d at least like to know if the build is decent or terribly bad. Thanks!
I wouldn’t use this build. definitely not in PvE. PvE is easy stat/trait wise. It jsut getting the skills right for each fight. So most people build for weapons(dmg for PvE) then apply skills at each encounter.
Main thing about it is it doesn’t have 10 in consecrations with Wall of Reflection on the util bar.
But yeah, what is this build even for? It might be passable in a wvw zerg but it’s a really terrible PvE build.
Mostly it will be open world pve and wvw. I don’t dungeon.
If your openworld PVE, then I can’t recommend a hammer/shout build. This is because
1. The cool stuff you get with a hammer will happen closer to the end of the encounters your having (you’re going to OPEN with #2 and you fight mostly trash mobs)
2. Shouts don’t you much in open world PVE. They are on-demand “OH CRAP” skills.
My recommendation is a 20/25/0/20/5 build with GS, the power signet, Purging Flame and the stability shout. definitely Zerker’s armor, because surviving openworld trash is simply done popping VoR and VoC.
If you’re set on using a hammer for PvE trash, you could use Focus off on alt weapon set, set down purging flames, focus #5, switch, hammer #2 onto mob and proc virtue of justice. That’s probably going to just leave you all set up with nothing left to kill though. :p
Personally, for open world PVE, I think Sword/Torch is the way to go, and that would get you more into zeal/radiance too, though as poster above mentions, greatsword is nice as well.
