Is mixing stats a good idea?
A better approach would be to have a mixed set that allows you to change your play style just with a different build. It’s better to pay 3s 50c than switching your gear, right?
By “mixed” sets I mean you don’t go full Berserker (Armor, Trinkets, Weapons), Valkyrie, Soldier, Knight, etc…
For example, a good mixed set would be Knight Armor, Valkyrie Trinkets and either Berserker or Soldier Weapon (easy to have two weapons and just switch when you want more or less damage/defense).
So you wouldn’t need to worry about carrying two sets at all times, but one good overall, and just retrain your Traits when you want to try something different.
I suggest full knights with p/v/t chest and legs. Slot with soldier runes and, if you really must, slot your emerald jewellery with beserkers jewels.
Beserker gs and hammer. Knights/valk main/off hand weapons. Healing on your staff.
Anet lied (where’s the Manifesto now?)
Like I just said in the other thread, guardians don’t need defensive gear since their passive defenses are so good. Just go full berserkers so you don’t have to waste unnecessary time hitting things more than once.

Agreed
This is a nice start for the average player. This setup can handle anything this game throws at you in both open world/dungeons and wvw.
And as you get better/confident/kitteny you buy some berserkers accessories to get some more critdamage and power.
