Guild Wars 2

So I got GW2 upon release and smashed through the game and hit lvl 80 in like, 5 days. I haven’t played since and recently am really badly wanting to come back. For the past few days, along with the hours now where I am currently downloading the game, I have been searching the internet and these forums like a rabid dog trying to gather information and plan out a build for myself. I decided asking for the help of the forum community would be a last resort and here I am, I am still clueless. It’s been hours and I just cant seem to figure it out. So please, help me if you can.

I have played WoW my entire life as a Ret Paladin. I don’t play much anymore, but I would like to have a similar playstyle in GW2. I would love a general damage build that has alright survivability, good burst and can stay alive. I want to be viable in PvE but I want to be an asset in PvP aswell and I would Preferably wield a GS.

I don’t know, the reason I quit GW2 in the first place back near release was because the Armor situation was so confusing. I didn’t know exactly what to spend Karma on or what gear I should get from Dungeons etc… and I was just overwhelmed. I’m really just trying to avoid this from happening again.

Search for Altruistic healing build with GS, theres alots of players that choose this build.

Ha! Funny you have this story, I have a similar case. Only real difference is I left because of content, but yeah, I hit 80 in 4 days. Either way, there’s plenty of builds to suit your needs. If you have the same playstyle I do, seeing as how we both played Ret Pallys, solo style and being a tanky threat is a must.

This may work for you. There’s plenty of other builds, but this has great survivability and damage. It’s not one of the cookie cutter builds, though, since it sacrifices certain traits for others, but you can modify it to your liking. Also, by PvP I assume you mean actual Structured PvP and not WvW.

If you go to http://en.gw2codex.com/build/ There’s a LOT of builds that are really viable for everything in the game. Just remember that not every single build is set in stone. You can modify stuff in these builds to fit your playstyle. Have fun
