Guild Wars 2

For PVE/WvW, I run a shout build. Mostly Knight’s armor, 3 shouts, and Renewed Focus. I use Greatsword (Can’t help it: I love swinging big swords and Leaping into crowds of enemies), along with a staff for support.

I decided to try some sPVP for once in a long time. I wanted to try a different playstyle, so I was like “hey, guess I’ll try spirit weapons!”

So I look into my traits, and look for all the traits that specifically benefit Spirit Weapons. I came up with 30/20/0/0/20. At first glance, it looks bad. I do love my Valor and Honor, but I thought hey, might as well give it a try.

For my utilities, I used Shield, Hammer, and Sword.

So I gave it a try, and my lord. When traited, these weapons are absolutely devastating.

I then switched to Mace/Shield and Hammer and my god, they work SO well with the spirit weapons, as if it was a match made in heaven.

Haven’t had so much fun playing this game in a long time, I think I found my new calling. I know that spirit weapon builds are generally frowned upon, but I gave it a try, and I felt effective and it was fun.

heh, glad ya enjoyed it so! and refreshing to hear. : )) i’ve been running a similar build to your previous one in PvE/WvW. haven’t really touched PvP yet (and doubt i ever will lol). so i wonder how effective spirit weapons would be in other areas of the game? assume it definitely has it’s place. just gotta try it out too.

that’s the thing, one of the things that drew me towards the Guardian were the spirit weapons! and i’ve played around in my head before and had similar trait set up to the one you’re using. very cool.

quick question – what armour, jewlry and runes / sigils did you choose to go with the spirit weapons?
