Hello, i am new to to guardian ( and the game d: ) and just hit my guard to 80. I have 45 gold. I know it is less to be effective in WvW or PvP, so right now i just want to grind dungeons. Is knights gear with berserkers trinkets good for this job? I want to be %60 dmg, %30 tank, %10 support. Thanks for answers.

It’s some kind of good start, As you learn how the mobs in dungeons work, you will probably start shifting your gear to full zerker, as you should no longer need the defense from knight. Besides, such a combination is quite useful in WvW, too – you don’t need to become a brick using soldier or sentinel crap for that.

Knight set is a good starting armor set Zerker trinkets are also good. I use Knights set and i love it for Trinkets its Zerker and Knights

Yes, knight’s gear with zerker trinkets works well pretty much anywhere. It is best, however, not to think of gear in terms of armor vs. trinkets. It is better to consider how much stats you are getting for each piece and how much you give up to get more +crit damage.

For instance, you get a good ratio on crit damage on your boots, gloves and shoulders—> 2 crit damage for 24 stat points. On the other hand, on berskerer’s exotic rings, you are getting +3 crit damage and giving up 48 stat points, which is a bad ratio. Similarly, berserker’s pants are bad because you only get +3 crit damage and give up 48 normal stat points.

If you want a mixture of zerker and knights, you should probably go knight’s helm, chest legs and rings. Zerker boots, shoulders and gloves. Amulet and earrings of whichever type you want to lean toward (probably zerker) and then socket any knight’s jewelry you have (rings) with ruby jewels.

Reading you guys’ comments i think ill prob go this :

Knight helm, chest, legs – berserker boots, shoulder, gloves. ( 24-25 gold )

For jewels, looking at exotics, i can buy them but if i do, i wont have any gold left for a weapon. So I will buy them rare ( lol there is so little difference beetween them for 7 gold? ), which i will go :

rare- knights rings x2 : 1gold

rare- berserker amulet : 20s

No idea about earrings.( 1g ) If i get knight, + toughness, and that trait gives %5 of precision using toughness, so a ill get a chance improve and also tankiness. It looks like knights will be better option. Or not, i dont know

So ill prob have 17 gold left for weapon. If i sell everything i have on my bank, this will prob jump to 25. And naegling is 27.

So really, is there a good Greatsword? Mystic claymore is ugly, so is ebonblade

What should i do about GS?

If i hardcore sell everything, i can buy the naegling. ( i will sell crafting things)

full knight gear for guardin is surely the best option but you need the right combination of trait and know your class to survive as a tank. Look here for more info:

that’s a good build, it’s basically for WvW and some PvE that mean that if you know how to dodge you can use it also in the hardest dungeon and get a cool dps (something like 1-2k, or more, with auto attack and 6k+ with wirling wrath)
in your terms this build is: 40%damage 30%support 30%tank

If you want specific skins, have a look at the greatsword gallery of the wiki. Everyone has their own flavour, since I find Naegling pretty ugly :P

As trinkets, you can start with the rares. If you have access to enough laurels and guild commendations, you can go directly for ascended trinkets from there. Those have a good amount of crit damage on zerker, so don’t take knight there.
