Let’s move some traits around and change some while we are at it.
Zeal line has the problem of all Minor traits being related to Symbols, which half of our weapons do not have(Sword, Scepter, Focus, Torch, Shield, Spear, Trident). With the exception of the first Minor(Zealot’s Speed) which is useful regardless, the other two should be moved to Major.
Fiery Wrath < – > Symbolic Exposure
Fiery Wrath is dependent on Burning. However, there is no Guardian build that can even not inflict Burning, because of Virtue of Justice, be it passive, active or dragonhunter’s version. Therefore, it fits in every build, and would do great as Minor trait.
Binding Jeopardy < – > Symbolic Power
Binding Jeopardy is dependent on you having Immobilize or Blind. If we consider every weapon set, the only weapons that would not benefit from Binding Jeopardy are:
Shield, Mace, Staff, Trident and Torch.
The only weapon combination that would not benefit from Binding Jeopardy becoming a Minor is someone going Staff and Mace Shield/Torch, because Trident is paired with Spear anyway, Shield and Torch can also be paired with other main-hands. Compared to half of our weaponsets not working with our Minor traits, I think this is a much better option.
Symbolic Avenger
Current: You deal more damage to enemies standing in your symbols. (10%)
Change: You deal more damage to enemies while standing in your symbols. (10%)
The problem with the initial trait is restraining your opponent into your Symbol, which is a difficult feat. The new trait would make it easier to upkeep, and even creates synergy with ranged weapons.
For example,
Current version: You place Symbol of Wrath at your feet, foe dodges out of it. Your symbol’s damage is lost, and so is the extra 10% damage.
Changed version: You place Symbol of Wrath at your feet, foe dodges out of it. Your symbol’s damage is lost, but you switch to Scepter while still in your symbol, and still deal 10% more damage with your Scepter(ranged) skills.
Absolute Resolution
Let’s face it, this trait is almost too good to pass up. Therefore, no other traits wants to be contender to this trait. Poor Glacial Heart will almost never see use due to this.
Glacial Heart < – > Retaliatory Subconscious
Retaliatory Subconscious now works with Unscathed Contender, it’s not one or other other anymore. Retaliatory Subconscious is afterall, another source of Aegis. Both traits benefit from this switch, and so does Glacial Heart.
Dragonhunter
Along with all the proposed changes that were mentioned in other feedback threads(such as faster arrows), consider changing Pure of Sight.
Pure of Sight
Current: Deal bonus damage to enemies beyond the range threshold. (10%)(600range)
Already explained here
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Revs-get-BWE-feedback-changes/first#post5388162
why Pure of Sight is a bad trait by design. Give us our 10% Longbow damage back(because many feedback threads have already stated that Longbow damage is low) and
Change: You gain 5 seconds of Swiftness whenever you hit a foe beyond the range threshold(600 range).
This way, the Dragonhunter gets to “chase”/close-in after the foe at range. The predator runs after the prey. It fits the Hunter theme very well, and also gives Guardians(Dragonhunters) some much needed mobility.
