Seriously guys, give me one good reason to go for DH’s longbow. Every skill is weak, barely doing any damage and doesn’t apply any condition whatsoever except that nice burn, which is again – bit weak.

Please, for DH’s name, buff that longbow(or at least in PvE).

I’d love to know what you’re smoking to find the longbow weak.

You do realize that longbow is literally the highest dps together with gs and it’s getting used by the pve meta build atm? If anything it needs a nerf because a range weapon doing more dps than melee weapons is kinda stupid.

Longbow has amazing DPS, there’s obviously something you’re missing. What gear type are you running? In almost full Zerkers I’m pulling 2-3k crits on the auto and 8-10k crits on the #2 alone.

Yeah… that’s not happening.

Learn to use it (and that included gear properly) or choose another weapon.

Admittedly I have not used it in pve yet, but I have great fun with the Longbow in pvp.

The only thing I feel could get a change is Hunter’s ward, the longbow #5.
A 2.75 sec cast (while standing still) is kinda really long before the barrier gets applied to those still within there.

I wouldnt mind a shorter cast at the cost of a shorter barrier.

As of now, you need a long cc on someone (that you know they wont break, because otherwise you waste your cd), in order for longbow #5 to be applied to someone.
Otherwise they can easily get out in time.

well i dont make damage on bow to, but because i choose not to do it, and prefered the shield and block optimization in turn of bow damage.

DH is really far better than i tough and also helps the bunker spec.

Meybe OP is expecting high damage with bunker specs.

Sarcasm translates poorly through text and OP gave no indication in his post that it was his intent. Considering the stuff folks complain about on these forums I don’t look between the lines or hunt for sarcasm unless it’s obviously there; some GW2 players will complain about anything.

Longbow is responsible for the second highest single hit I’ve ever seen done to me in sPvP-highest being a trap thief Vault. It also feels like the old power ranger except doesn’t require any of the utility skills to buff it.

Plus, you can dodge half of rapid fire’s damage even if you don’t see it coming. That doesn’t work with True Shot, which hits nearly as hard in total and has half the cooldown.

Only thing I see hitting harder is rev hammer, but LB is fast as sin and absolutely destroys things

Rev Hammer #2 skill may hit harder (compared to true shot, anyway), but you’d pretty much have to have the reflexes of pond moss for it to hit you. It’s a really slow attack that’s mainly good for zerg busting or if someone is unaware it’s coming. 2 sec cool down makes up for a lot of it’s deficiencies though. :-)

Revham 2 is a multi-target dream especially blob vs blob. I get 7k usually on crits with LB 2 on a ‘single’ target.

Whining is going to get it a longer CD at the least.

Rev hammer 2 also cannot hit anywhere higher than a small ledge :P

Also it’s one of the very few range aoe skill that only hit IN FRONT OF YOU, which means it’s not very practical in PVP since you’re constantly moving in circle in the small node.

But to me, mobile dark field + 100% life lich on Hammer 1, and on demand dodge on 3 is the real selling point.

I was just joking Saw a lot complains about LB so I was like: lets overdo it so they stop it xD

Honestly, LB is really fun to play on my DH, and I got much into game because of it lately.. they did great job to bring me back thou and win my 80 euro…

Condi is higher DPS with GS + Mace/Torch or Scepter/Torch but LB is still used for top power right now yeah.
