How would that work considering the Guardians abilities and mechanics are designed to be used next your teammate or opponents?
You mean like Healing Breeze, tomes, staff skills, spirit weapons, signets, Merciful Intervention, and traited consecrations? Oh wait. :0
Don’t exclude the new set of utilities and profession mechanic (even though virtues are long-ranged anyway) the specialization would be getting either.
As corny and overdone as it sounds, I’m kind of hoping the Guardians Specialization is a darker twist on the abilities, a “Dark Guardian” if you will. Along with this I’m hoping to get access to a dagger in the way a Necromancer or a Thief does. Having more offense wouldn’t be a bad thing in my book.

if its a longbow i will act like that part of the expansion does not even exist
im not playing a Guardian to be a freaking Hunter

There is no reason longbows can’t be supportive; just look at Bow of Truth. The niche of a 1200-range support weapon isn’t fulfilled on the guardian (and it’s barely fulfilled anywhere else in the game). However, if the guardian really does just get a ranger wannabe longbow (or shortbow), then I think that’ll be disappointed too.
Couldn’t care less about more gap closers and durability though, there are already weapons that provide those things. The point of the new specialization is to provide something somewhat new in terms of playstyle, not provide more of the same that current builds want.
I’d rather have Rifle than a bow. Only two classes can use it right now. Not really seen Warriors use it and Engineers are in kit weapons most of the time.
Longbow guardian has kind of been a dream of mine for awhile. Something with either low power rapid “light shard” attacks or high powered saturation style damage with burning. With atleast 2 support focused abilities. I can only hope though.
