Looking for Mace build
This is a standard trip med. but adapted for mace.
focusing on getting the rage pop on crit and blocking.
blinding & vulnerability with justice.
just a quickie off the top of my head. have not tried it..

^^^ dps trip med for small heals and cleanses. with teleport movement.
But your gonna miss the healing power for mace #1 hit 3. Ive been toying with all sorts of dps builds… always end up with a trip med one lol.
Interesting challenge. I haven’t put much thought to a mace build. I do see that I could ween you from valour 30. It would also make sense to capitalize on all the healing and boons you get from it.
I would probably start with a vanilla 0/0/10/30/30, all clerics/sapphire set of gear, Dwayna runes, Life/Restoration Sigil. Pretty boring stuff. I would probably see how I could modify that for better burning or more criting, though I think the critting would be weak since I didn’t spend any traits on crit stats.
I have a mace/shield build I love. Go 0/10/30/30/0 (though you can move the 10 into virtues for inpired virtue if you don’t want the slightly better crit chance and faster heal from Signet Mastery). Mainly we want Alt Healing and Pure of Voice out of those 30s. I use honor to also get shout recharge reduction and healing symbols. I use valor to get shield or mace bonus with purity for more condition removal. My main setup is Mace/Shield with Scepter/Focus for range. works great and my parties absolutely love me for the amount of healing and condition removal I give. Damage isn’t quite up there with greatsword, but it’s much higher than I thought I would get.

I’ve been running around WvW with a Mace/Shield & Hammer build for a while, focusing on consecrations for CC and range attack blocking.

The strategy I use is to normally leap into the fray with JI+ RoW combo to capture some of the melee, continue the advance and setup Wall of reflection between the melee and ranged.
Once wall is up switch to Mace and shield to support the advancing melee mob by putting down the symbol and once WoR is gone put the bubble up, detonating it (do it at the end of the 4sec duration) for a quick heal and range denial.
The group support is amazing as there isn’t a 5 target limit to the range blocks from the shield and consecrations.

i’ve run a mace/shield + hammer combo for a while. running 0/0/10/30/30 and worked extremely well. definitely was not hitting as hard as i could have – which the mace is capable of doing.. but you definitely offer a lot of support and staying power. which is always fun. : ))
thinking of putting together a mace/shield or even mace/focus combo (depending on group composition) with any variation of a x/x/30/30/x build. or even as mentioend up top, with triple meds as well.
either mace or shield trait would be nice. though more inclinced towards the shield trait. with high crit chance, the mace is a hefty weapon which offer utility.

I tried this one, works great. Great dps and survivability.
Eventually got ticked off by the inability to hit mobs that run away though. Mace’s hit range seems to be really small and not benefit from that ‘invisible reach’ all melee attacks have.
thats what i am trying our right now…
its a mainly a pve build focusing on condition damage with mace and permeating wrath… two things that you do not see often – thats why i chose them.
everybody says condition build on guard is stupid cause you only have one. which is true but with permeating wrath this build focuses on maintaining burn on all (5) targets around you. the idea is simple due to supreme justice you need only 4 hits to you point blank burn with mace you are able to achieve that very consistently due to symbol ticks which you can have close to perma up and the auto attack hits 1+2 and mace 3. mace focus gives you high survivability to stand your ground
staff is for gathering mobs and might stacks to increase condition damage. (you can also use greatsword for even more burning activation – but again that wouldnt be the point)

even if you do not go down virtues i really recommend traiting symbols all the way. its what defines the mace…. and slaming the ground for a symbol looks cool.
