Guild Wars 2

Hi guys, was fighting in wvw and saw a very interesting build, would like to try something similar on my guard.

Enemy guardian started by symbol of wrath I presume (could be another skill)? Then basically stayed in it while using GS 2 and 5. He was able to stand his ground, apply good dmg and burns with great regen!

While dealing good dmg, he had amazing toughness as well. I believe I was hitting with 900-1k autoattack. And I remember the second weapon as hammer. I’m not quite sure, sorry for the horrible memory recollection here.

So basically, I want to ask the guardian experts: what build is this (traits, utility skills) and what combination of gear should I use to achieve this?

The typical greatsword skill combo is to drop a symbol, pull with Binding Blade, and then whirlwind. That’s bog-standard. Any Altruistic Healing/Two Handed Mastery build will work. Then it’s just gear selection. If he wasn’t taking much damage, he probably had around 3k armor. With 3k armor you have some options on how to lay out your stats but typically you see something on the order of 1800-2000 power and 13-16k HP with 30-40% crit and 50% crit damage or so.

It’s also fairly typical to drop 10 points in Zeal for the 10% extra damage on burned targets multiplier.

This is what I use for my tanky/dps build. 0/5/30/30/5, with Greatsword and Hammer.

Running x6 Runes of Soldier and Pure of Voice because I use all shouts, so condition dmg is not a problem. Gear is a lot of different things. Knight, Valkyrie, and Soldier. Still keeping 30% crit rate with 48 crit dmg.
