Looking for a good unkillable 80 exotic armor set / build
There is no immortal/unkillable build or setup… That being said if you want to try to survive as long as possible 15k hp minimum with max toughness. If you dont care about healing power stack some power but make sure your 30-40% crit before your buffs. Other than that really its about prefrence. Theres lots of different ways to make yourself harder to kill. But those stats i said will be a basis to build around.
It depends largely on your style of play.
Personally I like to run with a cleric’s set, with sigils for energy recovery, accessories that make up the short fall in precision/power/vitality and skills favouring blind and teleporting and traited to heal on evasion – it makes you quite a slippery fish on the battlefield, avoiding a heck of a lot of damage, and restoring your HP with relative ease.
The downside is a low HP pool can make you susceptable to burst if you are caught off-guard – and you won’t have the highest DPS in the world ( but reasonable sustained damage ).
Personally I like divinity runes, but boosting boon and protection duration is also a strong setup.
In WvW, 2v1 is viable and I’ve often been able to survive far longer than I should against groups of 4-5 – and in PVE the only mobs that give me a headache are the ones with a lot of range AoE and/or blind resistance.
Having said that, if I favoured the hammer or sceptre, I might choose the soldier’s set.

Well, I know it’s impossible to get a literally unkillable build, I’m just looking for as much survivability as possible. I’m not too concerned with damage unless it is the means to an end of survivability. It would be nice, but my main concern is taking damage, whether through healing everything coming at me or just taking hits.
Mostly clerics with some vit thrown in, and a shout build. every boon you grant to allies will heal yourself (all your shouts do this, and all virtues grant boons to allies through the 10 points in virtues) conditions on allies are turned into boons (from the shouts) win win, your teammate is condition free and you’re a healing tank
I use the same in dungeons and can tank anything and everything. Many people have commented on how difficult I am to take down, and it makes you very handy for point holding etc in pvp and pve
I use this build too:

The consecration choice in virtues was made because depending on the situation, i switch out some shouts for sanctuary, but normally keep “hold the line” and “save yourselves” on my bar at all times
Also, using a staff may be handy, “Empowerer” will grant might per tick which will mean you’ll see a bunch of healing numbers for every tick.
- This is just my personal build so if anyone has any ideas on improvements I’d like to hear them, im always looking to improve. but I’ve spent a while looking at the traits and the synergy between them all just goes hand in hand imo.
If you’re looking for more of a meat shield (which may be better in wvwvw) then go for soldiers,Orr,AC Power/Tough/Vit gear
If your main concern is survivability, I guess Soldier (Power/Toughness/Vitality) is the way to go. Getting yourself up to 3000+ armor and a ton of health would make you as survivable as possible against hits and conditions.
However, it may not be very effective as you’d probably hit like a wet noodle. So in the end you will go down as you don’t have the dps to kill your target and simply prolong the fight.
It seems that some people have made some calculations as to the ‘best bang for buck’ set which consisted of the following:
Full Knight’s armor (with full Divinity or Scholar runes)
Beryl (Valkyrie) Jewelry and 1 Emerald earring with a Beryl Jewel
Haven’t tested this myself as I’m currently running a full Cleric set; but according to certain calculations found on the wiki they claim that it gives you the best balance between defense and offense.
Fojja – Vyxxi – Nymmra – Mymmra – Champion of Dwayna .. and more
Highly Over Powered Explorers [HOPE] – Desolation EU

Well right now I am debating between a build that gives me:
900 something healing power, 700 Vit, 650 toughness, and around 350 power.
Or
600 something healing power, 650 Vit, 700 toughness, and around 650 power.
I’m trying to choose based upon whether or not I will need the extra power just to be able to take someone down. I don’t want to be so tanky that I don’t die, but I also am unable to kill anyone. If the extra power is required, I can do that, but if it’s not, the extra healing will be great for my ultimate goal of being a brick wall you have to beat down with your fists.

The build you are looking for is quite possible. There is no one and only, so I’ll give you mine, and you can tweak it from there to fit you.
Before that, i want to make sure you understand there is no Soldier or Magi armor sets in PvE, and thus WvW. You can achieve those stat spreads via runes and seals/crests (upgrade slots), but not on the actual gear.

Sadly, there are no skill calcs that I am aware of yet that allow you to pick the stat spreads on PvE armor/weapons/trinkets, so a lot of this is going to have to be explained in words.
Aim for an armor value of 2850. This reduces damage by a further 25% compared to default value of 2127. When adding Protection boon, they combine for a 50% reduction. Keeping protection up as often as possible while keeping in suite with your playstyle is important.
Also, obtain these minimum stat values. You can go higher in any value you choose if you can get the proper gear.
Power of 2250
Crit chance of 45%
Crit damage of 40%
Health of 16k
This is just a rough guideline though. The Guardian is really good at surviving without needing to spec into a survivable build too heavily.
I’d recommend mixing Knights and Valkyries on armor, pick the stat spread of your weapons based on how you plan to play when wielding them, and pick your trinkets based on what appeals to you. There’s really a lot of flexibility for the Guardians builds.
And I’ve just had something come up in real life I have to handle. I will edit this later to finish it up.
My guardian has around 17,000 hp, 1700+ toughness, 2900 power, around 25-30% crit chance and crit power 67%… I was wondering if I should drop the crit power for more crit chance (precision). I am using beryl orbs thats why… I think bumping up crit chance and lowering crit power would be a good tradeoff, I like all my other skills.
I am maxing the toughness and precision trait lines, with increased crit chance with one handed weapons by 15%. I have a good amount of survivability with double meditation build and save yourselves/reflective wall. I can take damage and dish out damage when in a group with people, and usually run with scepter or sword and shield.
Look up the superior rune of melandru set, or the superior rune of the knight/soldier?.
Cleric (or Dungeon vit/prec/heal) w/ Berryl Jewelry + Valk weapon.
Then just play w/ Runes / Backpack / Traits
