Mace, Staff, Shield Combo Finishers
just reading this made me think; I cant remember the last time I saw a Guardian using a mace
i use a mace during gvg and guild raids
I agree that early activation on the mace would be nice. It would basically give you a reliable area condition cure. The problem is the mace whirl only produces one projectile. It needs to be fixed to fire more than that.
We already have a massively powerful blast finisher on hammer – asking for blasts on shield and staff is a bit much. Don’t forget that focus 5 is already a blast.

meh, the blasts are ok. I don’t think blast on empower would be too bad, maybe shield is a bit much since it creates a light combo field on its own.
I really do feel mace should be controlable.
It does only create one whirl bolt, which is due to the mechanic based on spinning time and internal game “ticks”. Sometimes it could make NO bolts if it is timed wrong. At least I noticed that just now when testing with fire fields.
The only way to make it a reliable combo activation with current mechanics is to make it a blast finisher, but I don’t think that is the right thing to do.
It would be nice if whirl finishers created a circle wave that ticked in pulses to up to 5 targets? Makes it more controled.

a circle wave on whirl finishes would be kind of nice. though i have no qualms with how it’s done now. if you’re in the thick of things, most bolts will hit something one way or another. although, i didn’t know mace 3 only produced one bolt, if it does actually cast.
blast on empower makes sense, though i feel would be a tad too much as well. would make might stacking even easier. XDD or extra heals on water. hmmm. sound tasty.

I didn’t even think about the water combo field. That makes total sense for empower I feel. Causes some great synergies.
12 stacks of might and fire field = 15 might
Water field would give combo heal and empower heal
Smoke would provide us a way to give invis to groups
Poison weakness
I am pretty much listing out all the blast finishers, they are all great utility effects, which the staff is “THE” utility weapon for the guardian.
Frankly I wish that there were more abilities with combos. For all classes, not just us. It really sucks to have a build that can’t produce any combo finishes AT ALL, like mace/shield scepter/torch, etc. Necromancers only have like one combo finisher at all, and it’s on staff.

I think the whole combo system in general needs a overhaul honestly.
Some of the combos are seemingly pointless and most of the time it is mindless and secondary to what we do.
Combos should be purposeful and powerful when used correctly.
Kind of an offshoot idea, I always thought there should be a sort of chaining system to smartly combine multiple attacks into a flow that would give a bonus.
Like leap of faith and symbol of wrath mid air causes a small ae knock down, or something to that effect.
Banish and Mighty blow cause an upper cut and mid air hit to knock down instead of away.
