Hey fellow guardians! I’m a recent 80, my first toon to 80, I’ve been doing my homework hardcore and trying to figure out what build to go! I’ve tried Strife’s AH build, a DPS mace/focus spec and I’m currently gearing for Kharel’s boonway build, I just purchased 3 pieces of exotic PVT pieces from the karma vendor in Orr(3 pieces is all I could afford). I didn’t really know where else to spend my karma and would like to tank if its viable! Since I’m too new to the game to really start theory crafting, I’d like some advice for a tank build from experienced players, if such a thing exists, how viable are full support guardians in dungeons, particularly PUGs? While leveling with a friend, the most fun I had was keeping my friends alive between tanking and soaking up damage or a healing build I tried while my warrior buddy mowed through mobs, I’m just curious if there are viable full support roles a guardian can play in end game, if so please point me towards them!! Build guides/discussions would be perfect links because short of googling “guardian tank build, gw2” and wondering if this particular player has any credibility or if I’m going to get laughed at the minute I set foot in a dungeon, I’ve run out of options! To the topic of my title: would a mace/shield or mace/focus guardian with the new changes to Mace of justice, be able to face tank bosses? With the appropriate spec and defensive gear etc? How much extra healing does an extra 250 healing power actually translate to? Any and all answers to my questions(I know it’s kind of a lot but I’m trying to learn as much as possible) would be much appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,
Mord

Every skill that heals has a specific healing power coefficient that defines how much it benefits from healing power. See the wiki for numbers.

Perfect, I’ll definitely look into these numbers, having a coefficient will help tremendously! Anyone have any say on the viability of a “tank” AH variant build for dungeons/fractals such as:

http://gw2buildcraft.com/calculator/guardian/?3.4|9.1k.h1f.e.1c.h12|6.1k.h1f|1n.7x.1n.7x.1n.7x.1n.7x.1n.7x.1n.7x|1k.68.1c.68.1c.68.1k.68.1k.68.1c.68|0.0.u67b.u28b.a5|0.0|v.1g.16.18.1j|e

With the option of switching between Shield of the Avenger and Wall of Reflection as well as grouping each with the appropriate 10 point Virtue trait between Improved Spirit Weapon Duration and Master of Consecrations. This build won’t by any means be topping the charts with DPS but the survivability and group support is definitely there, and given the Mace of Justice changes with the extra 250 healing power, and mace/shield or mace/focus being one of the most defensive combos for guardians, why wouldn’t you take Mace of Justice? Also I’ve tried taking Battle Presence, as my 30 point Honor trait and it ticks for ~200 on party members every 3 seconds. Thoughts? How viable is a build like this? And by viable I mean useful to the group, worth spending coin/currency on the exotics to support it etc!

Below are my stats with the build in full Rare quality with only 2 of the 6 runes needed to complete the set…forgive my noobness/poorness, I’m a fresh 80 and new to the game simply trying to plan for my set!

Thanks in advance,
Mord
