Make Shelter a consecration skill?
Do you mean meditation? It doesn’t feel like a consecration at all.
Consecrations are all Area of Effects that can be placed.

Not to mention it isn’t supportive in any sense, whereas all consecrations are supportive.
Shelter should remain as it is. Every single skill getting parted out into a utility type is BAD. when that happens it always means the skill is underpowered if u dont take the trait for it(Like litanty of wrath is only half as powerful without monks focus). Right now Shelter is a type of skill. A BLOCKING type of skill. which means you can trait for it in a way reguardless of what other utility types you have. Seeing as blocking is a main mechanic of guardian thats a GOOD THING. It needs to stay the way it is (and hopefuly well get more like it in the future)
When they did the changes, they did consider giving Shelter a category. The other heals got theirs and the shorter cooldowns, but they decided Shelter is strong as it is and would become too strong with shorter cooldown as it is, so they would have to change its functionality. And tbh I agree with them, it’s a strong skill
Categorizing heals and elites was a bad idea. The ones which were changed across all professions are still underused or in rare cases became too strong (Rampage). Like Silhouette.5631 said, by categorizing the skills, it makes the skill weaker if you don’t have the trait for that skill type.
The only thing that needs to be tuned up on concecrations is Sanctuary.
Make it a support heal skill or make it a elite skill….

Consecration skills deal placing down a wall, or area of effect which is beneficial to allies and harmful to foes. In order for shelter to fit this theme, its functionality and maybe mechanics would have to be changed. Not gonna happen. We love our mobile 2 second self- block on 30 sec cd :p

There’s no rule saying all consecration skills have to work like that.
Shelter should be a signet. Passive vatilaty and block heal active.
the only room for it would be as a consecration or a spirit weapon. every other skill type has a heal for that type.
it doesn’t make sense as a consecration since it isn’t ground rooted, doesn’t have a lasting effect, and doesn’t effect other players / or enemies. it is one of the most selfish skills a guardian has.
it may work as a spirit weapon, but we know how well those work and we should not ask for such a thing.
I like it currently uncategorized. sure, they could make it work as another skill type regardless of how the others like it work (receive the light?) but it would then likely suffer in an unbuffed form until you traited into virtues to get back to the base skill we are used to.

I disagree with that. A lot of elite and heals are better off in a category and I hope they make that oven wider in the future. I want more synergy with runes and trait. But forcing skill into category they don’t fix isn’t good either. Shelter is so powerful that 90% of any guardian build use it whatever the gamestyle. It’s like the Engi Turret or Warrior Healing Signet. Putting it in a category wouldn’t be good for the game.
