Trades 3 amazing instant virtues with 3 slow virtues with crap effects.
I wouldn’t mind this handicap from Guardian if at least traps and Bow were good, but they’re not.

I agree that DH f2 and f3 are just horrible. but I really like Spear of Justice. if they could just make it cast faster then it would be a lot better.

The problem with spear of justice is that it’s a projectile, is way slower and you can’t use it while doing other skills. It also gives nothing to the group. Now that burning stacks intensity the normal virtue of justice is way stronger. You basically give burning attacks to your whole group.

Interesting when you compare us to the other elite specs i didn’t think about it before.

Other classes receive awesome stuff while the Dragon Hunter removes awesome stuff, how is this fair ArenaNet?

Even if bow and traps were good I still don’t enjoy the trade off. Might as well not activate and pretend we don’t have f-keys xD

Reaper Shroud removes Necro’s only viable ranged power option.

Necro’s lose Life Blast, Doom, Life Transfer and Dark Path – something way better? I’m not convinced. Sure, it’s fun and has reasonable DPS, but i think the loss of the above key skills is pretty hard to swallow.

Those are highly subjective version of what elite specialization adds. Each of them also gives up a trait line and has to adapt to a slightly different way to play. Plus some necros would call the new shroud a downgrade as the damage on it isnt particularly high and it is really prone to being kited.

I think that people need to view DH as a different playstyle entirely and need time to adapt to is. The line is catered toward using the longbow so the virtues are more about ranged damage/defense and movement. Following this thought although the new virtues work better with longbow, they are not worth recharging. This with the idea that we are now ranged and should not need an instant invulnerability as much actually has me using the new elite trap.

Dragon’s Maw is a really nice CC tool in general, in teamfights it acts like a ring of warding but is really effective to stopping rezzes/securing stomps as it interrupts and slows.

Battlelord Taeres
