This skill feels very lackluster right now, and I think the mechanics of it need to be re-worked. More often times than not when I’ve tried to use it, it will heal a NPC, or someone’s pet or something instead of the target you intended it for. What I think is, it should either become either of the following: Only group members or used on player you have selected. So to the latter, it would be a supportive heal version of Judge’s Intervention.

It would be a great supportive healing skill for a party, as you can get it to heal for as much as 5k+ in sPvP, and as guardian doesn’t have a whole lot of burst heals, we mostly deal in regen, that would help spike heal someone if they’re going down fast.

I like this skill a lot, personally, but you’re right in that it should probably be reworked to only affect player characters. It’s kind of annoying to be within range of my party in a dungeon, see someone get low, hit Merciful Intervention and…I teleport to the NPC that still has 50% health.

Yeah i know anet has shyed away from targetted healing in gw2 but theres really no feasible way to make this skill not bad without letting it be targetted.

At the very least ground targetted, they seem to be fine with that i think

Agree… friendly target is the answer… if not, ground targetted is good too.
But right now this skill is 80% useless…

Sorry for the spelling mistakes, is not my language. :P

What the skill should have is a priority system:

  1. Player in the user’s party
  2. Player not in the user’s party
  3. NPC
  4. Pet

  5. So if you activate the skill, it check who is in range, then it ports you to the nearest player in your party in range with the lowest health. If no-one is in your party, it will port you to the player with the lowest health, etc.

yeah I don’t particularly like that skill because you can’t target who you want to heal. I’ve tried to use it a few times and I never heal the person that I feel needs it the most. Its too unreliable for my tastes. If it worked with either friendly targeting or ground targeting I’d actually play a meditation build.

Would be nice if this skill have an area effect and would be ground targeted.

It’s one of those abilities which sound really neat and gets you in
that supportive “mood” and then lets you down.
