Hi there,

so basically I am aiming for PVE/fractals/dungeons build with a little more survivability. I hate beign Guardian with 11k HP and getting one shotted.

The concept is to get more HP and toughness with celestial rings (to get a little bit of everything) and one Knight armor piece. Plus I want to get might stacks with Empowering Might trait+Sigils of Strength+Runes of Strength+Staff Empower skill.

And my question is, do you think this build will be viable? I still dont have Strenght runes and I want to be sure before I buy them (they are so freaking expensive!). And I am not so confident to keep above 90% HP with Scholar runes

So what do you think about this build? Any advices?

Honestly, just stick to full zerker and learn slowly. Staying alive on guard in DPS gear and traits is fairly easy if you know what to dodge. Just give it some time and you will improve.

You will only make it harder for yourself by building for more ‘tankyness’ in dungeons.

I wouldn’t mix armors with different stats, go for full Berserker instead of one Knight/Solider piece.

I wouldn’t advice Strength runes for a Guardian as they aren’t that good in Might stacking. Afaik Scholar is better if you have over 90% health for more than ~1/3 of a fight.
An alternative would be Flame Legion runes (+7% against burning foes).

I’ve used a very similar build until about one-and-a-half year ago, until I realized that permanent Protection from Hammer and/or frequent Blind from Radiance 3 are better options to keep my team alive than anything Valor 6/Honor 6 could provide.

Staff will not help you in dungeons for the most part. Pick up a hammer and get protection.

Guard isn’t good at might stacking on its own. If you’re not confident in full zerker, try with knight/ zealot first and then switch out when needed.

Consider the duration of those might stacks vs what can be applied by others and consider the sacrifices you have to make to your build to get them vs others.

Relative to other professions it’s not the best and swapping to staff just for might gets old really fast.

Because you won’t be using empowering might nor staff. As i explained on other posts, staff #4 has a really short duration and it screws up more important stacks coming from fire fields+blast, and you’re stuck with a crappy weapon if you use it to refresh the might stacks in combat. Empowering Might is in an unwanted traitline except for hammer specs, and you want to use writ of persistence in that case.
